Tennessee “Bulletin Board” Material?

Apparently he doesn't know his own squad ... WR room is decimated, Sampson gone, and their QB room (while they have Aguilar who is mid in my opinion) has little game experience with their offense. Leading tacklers are gone, leading sack machine gone, and quite frankly they suffered just as much of a production hit as we did.

But he’s a “top 1%” commenter

Cool school and campus sure, but they are kinda like WV people. Very very very strange
I lived in Morgantown for six years and never heard the term Yankee. WVU pulls a ton of students from the northeast; it's a much, much different culture, location, and institution than UT-Knoxville. There are more Jersey girls at WVU than southern belles.

Doing fieldwork in the national forests in the absolute middle of nowhere... different story.

Thems fightin' words...NOT

A little hyperbole: Tennessee fans feel entitled to excellence and think it's obscene if they're not perennially top 10. They melt down when they're mediocre (oh boo hoo us) or try to hire a meathead a former Rutgers coach (well they did get that one right).
Just another SEC school w/big ambitions, an oversized stadium and idolatrous zealots all over that burnt Orange Rocky Top.

In the 1966 Gator Bowl Little (216 on 29 carries) and Csonka (114 on 18 carries) combined for 330 yards and we intercepted 3 passes and still lost 18-12. And let us not even refer to the 1998 stolen game that led to their national championship.

Let us hope we have the talent, luck and scheme to win.
That Gator Bowl was talked about by all kinds of SEC fans, not just Vols, as marking how weak Eastern football was compared to the South. Cuse came in with 8 wins while Tenessee had been a bit lucky to have 7.

The announcing team for that bowl was one of the all time greats - far, far better than any crew today.

I'll settle for the DL using some twists and stunts to get penetration. Not a fan of seeing our defensive tackle waltzing with the offensive guard.
I think we do see improvement across the entire D as last year's bigger/faster recruits have a year or more in the system. I like hearing our DC explain how they're targeting the weak areas, like tackling. Pretty sure I read of a lineman who's eyes have already been opened by Freeney's and Bullock's directions. Not positive, though.
Maybe we have a more balanced team, a little less able to put up points than last year, but with a more stalwart D.🤞

Agreed.

I also think that having a true 3 down - 3 level LB in Gary Bryant (and maybe even Deslauriers) is going to unlock a lot of things for our defence and allow us to blitz more, and deploy different coverages with mismatched boxes.

Wax was this guy to at extent, but he was hurt and I think his strength was playing in the box. Barron played well, but he was adjusting to playing LB and wasn't really a thumper.

I am expecting Bryant to be equally adept at all three levels.

Can’t tackle if you can’t shed blocks.

Yes! Really looking forward to seeing how good the new guys are. Camp reports are encouraging, especially for an area of concern with the departures.

Dang, how old are you?

Why announce? I am all about gamesmanship. Tennessee and their bs home cooking refs that call their games. Don't announce Fran!

Do we know who the refs are yet? Since it's technically a neutral site, I would think they couldn't be ACC or SEC.

Only 15 days until kick off and still no tickets...

I could be wrong but I think Tenn is the home team so it will be SEC refs.

Generally the visiting team provides the officials, but depends on contract. Mind you this is part of the Aflac Kick off series.

That’s what I thought too but whatever I googled the other day said the opposite. Not sure what I searched for that gave me that answer because when I look now it says away team refs as well.

Let’s hope so as I have no faith in SEC refs giving us a fair shot.

Are you sure that ACC refs would be of any help to us?

too many here are obsessed with his muscles and thinking that automatically translates to performance.

If it's treated as a normal cross conference game, the visiting team's conference would supply the refs. See the screwjob in '98.
