I’m currently down in Knoxville hanging out with friends, who actively contribute to Tenessee’s NIL. They said Rick Barnes has 17-20 million to work with next season. They also said JP Estrella was offered 1.5M for next season, but turned it down. And the reason was because Indiana offered him 3M. Crazy numbers being thrown around!!!

That doesn’t add up. He would be starting so offering him only 1.5 with that budget seems off to me.

I guess Tennessee wants to be UK lite. Flush good donor money down the toilet every year. If JPE can get $3M with his injury history, more power to him. I think his market ceiling will end up being $2M, maybe $2.5M, and GMac will close the deal. All speculation on my part.

Net net, it seems, is cuse was in bottom 30% in NIL last year and will be in the 50-60% this year. A nice improvement and brings relevance back into play but still massively disadvantaged against the top 20%.
