Tennessee Predictions...

I am just hoping for a respectable score...

My fear:

I'm afraid we could lose be 30-40 easily

In the end, I think we'll play better than we have, but still lose by 20ish.

108-62.

On the bright side Chance makes his debut with 2 minutes left.

Choppa needs 25 today now. huge opportunity to make his mark here. He should have a green light for sure.

maybe we see Westry?

Current temperature in Knoxville is 31° and it snowed last night in Tennessee so maybe it’s a sign, who knows, let’s go orange

i think tenn is actually a good matchup for SU...two similar squads...losing jj really hurts though...

if cuse gets hot from 3, they can win

I expect this to look very similar to the Illinois game a couple of years ago.

Down 7 at half, ended up losing by 29

I just hope if we fall behind early, Red takes decisive action with the player substitutions. You can't be a deer in the headlights. If guys aren't putting out the effort, sit down. You can't wait that extra minute and let a 5 point lead turn into an 11 point lead before you call timeout. Play Naheem. Play Cuffe. Play Petar.
Didn't he recently say it's time for a 7 man rotation.

I sure hope not. We don't have 7 guys who don't have major holes in their games.

To play a short rotation and not suck, you have to have guys who can do all three - score, rebound and defend. We don't have many of them.

That's why he should be playing more guys situationally.

For example:
  • Our best center is not a rim protector. The one we do have doesn't play AT ALL.
  • Our designated transfer PG is really bad at defense, and seems a bit scared of this level.
  • Our best returning shooter appears to be a bit of a head case because he's started the season poorly, and threatens to implode. Oh, and he only occasionally plays defense. You can't rely on him, because if he's not making shots, he sulks.
  • We have a couple promising young forwards - Petar and Donnie - and should play them together a bit more often. I feel like Petar's fundamentals and positioning help Donnie, and Donnie's athleticism helps Petar.
  • Jyare Davis is a dog. I would love to see him take some of Chris Bell's time. Either Chris quits or he produces. We should have a "no prima donnas" policy going forward.
