Tennessee Week Articles and Videos

When Fran was asked what player or position group surprised him the most this summer, he took the opportunity to highlight the walk ons, that due to the new rules, won’t be able to play with the team. Talked about their hard work and sacrifice. It’s a shame that part of college football is no longer a thing.

Very classy move by Fran

Injury report
Syracuse is relatively healthy. Sophomore tight end Jamie Tremble has been dealing with leg spasms but has been practicing.

Senior defensive tackle George Rooks Jr., senior center Austin Collins and redshirt freshman Emanuel Ross were banged up with minor injuries toward the end of fall camp.

Freshman wide receiver Darius Johnson (fractured fibula) will not play in the opener. Syracuse is hoping he can return for the start of conference play on Sept. 20 at Clemson.

This isn't a problem, it is an opportunity.

I know your son is a big fan, so just ask him: "What would Hamilton do?" Now, it's his problem...errrr, opportunity to step up and make his old-man proud.

Also - IF it takes you 3.5 hours to move your kid into a dorm room, you’re doing something wrong.

They aren’t that big, and there’s only so much stuff your kid could possibly cram in there.

Plus - you’ll be having the Goon Squad helping out.

And - there’s no reason you couldn’t have the game on your phone and/or a laptop, so you can keep tabs on it during the actual moving part.

Different son, but I see where you’re headed. He’d actually be fine with me watching the game. My wife on the other hand….

I’m fine with dumping everything in his room and letting him put things where he wants to. My wife wants to put the bed up on blocks, make sure his posters are up straight, put a mattress pad on his bed, etc.
When I’m watching the game I have to be fully focused and dedicated to the task. I can’t just casually check in on my phone from time to time. I’m just going to have to record it and shut my phone off.

I know, right?! I’ve known when the game is but was always forgetting which day I was bringing him back. Maybe I could interest him in a couple of trains and a shuttle bus.
Do you think anyone will tell you result? If not, dee vee arr. Hell, I've got nothing going on tomorrow but I'm recording it so I can play 18 with a buddy (who won't spoil it) and then will watch in the evening when I get home. That way, I can get golf in and then get liquored up and watch the game without any parent or husband obligations.

My step dad, when he helped me move into my dorm, had a full schedule that day, so he full on sprinted in and out of the building like an absolute crazy person. He had the truck unloaded in about 15-20 mins. So dig deep, move fast.

I don’t think anyone would spoil it intentionally, but there’s always the random friend or sibling who may reach out and text. This morning I set the tv to record with an extension in case the game runs longer than the scheduled time. Not worried about kids or wife bugging me once I get back home.

Yeah, I know how that works. I rarely miss any cuse games (bb or fb) but watch most on delay so I can watch later in the evening and do other dad stuff during the day. Occasionally someone will ruin it for me but most people in my inner circle know how I roll. Just as a precaution, once the game starts, I turn of text notifications. I know I'm not the average bear with these kinda things but it works for me.
