Texas Bowl Fine Mess Tailgate

Mark,

Firming up the plans now. I have seven in my party and we can bring stuff as we are local. I need to buy a new canopy so if you need another, let me know. I also have a couple friends if we need more as this may be the official Syracuse Tailgate.

I can also get my hands on a few folding tables (4' long). A couple small coolers. I may be able to get a grill, will need to know whether you want charcoal or gas.

Let me know what else you may need and I will let you know whether I can get my hands on it.

Mark,

Just moved to Houston so most of our stuff is in storage but I will be attending the game and would love to join the tailgate. If there are any odds and ends needed (cups, plates, etc..) that are needed I will be more than happy to bring them. Also, let me know what the best method of payment is. I will be with two or three people at this point and may have an extra ticket if the former.
Check your PM

Mark, plans are all set. It'll be myself and my brother from syracuse. We will not be needing your extra room. Thanks for the offer! Let me know if we can help with anything.

Ok...update

SU alumni club and our tailgate are joining in together.

Menu: BBQ, Sides, Hofmann Coneys, Soda and Water.
Beer will be BYOB but we will have coolers and trust me...there will be enough beer if you can't bring any...just tip the organizer.

The bad news...you have to pay upfront and only to the first 150 folks. I hope the link goes live tomorrow.

BTW, anyone coming have a Cuse Flag to fly with grommets? I have a telescoping flagpole but no flag with grommets.

Airfares suck even driving to NY or Philly I cant find anything decent. Sucks because I found 188 round trip from philly to Dallas with New Years date for the other Texas bowl. but the Christmas rel;ated fares are awful.

We need more northern bowls. Southern schools can easily travel to many bowls and therefore garner many of the perks and advantages - better bowls, more invites, etc.

We need a Dome in Boston or Philly. NYC already blew it.

Indy would make sense.

Hoffman"s are ordered. 13 and 7. If we need more should be able to just pick off the shelf for add ons.

I'm coming from Dallas.
Arriving by car Thursday.Bringing Orange and Blue striped banner stolen from New Orleans Street light pole at Final Four in '87.
Can bring moderate sized rolling cooler. 6' folding table, two folding chairs if necessary. No need for BBQ for me.Just a hard-nosed win!

Yes to all..might not need table but bring it just in case.

Mark, we got a really good rate at a 4 star boutique hotel in downtown Houston. Rates are about half the normal rate. I saw a king room, free internet and free hot breakfast for around $90.00 for the days around the bowl game. It is the Magnolia Hotel and looks great.

Magnolia is a very good hotel. Clientelle are corporate types. My company uses it often when employees from out of town come down.

Mark, contacted Rachel last night to discuss bbq pickup logistics. She said her and a couple others would be making a final decision in the next day or two and would get back to me. Truck is gassed and ready to go.

Any news on which lot we'll be having the tailgate? Also, I know you can buy parking passes ahead of time, but can't find anything about being able to buy them at the gate. For Texans games, there are only certain lots you can buy at the gate.

SU is going to tell me tomorrow.

BTW, they sent out the wrong times sigh...
1:00pm set-up
1:30pm official start
2:30pm BBQ gets served
