Texas cleans house

No one left to blame but Tom Herman now, he better win 10 next year or he will be next.
Herman is a Nick Saban wannabe... but he doesn’t realize you can’t be an arse if you don’t have a good record to fall back on. It’s amazing to me that a team with that much talent can’t get better results. That’s all coaching.

My guess is if he doesn’t win 10 next year he’s on the hot seat for 2021. With his UT background I don’t think he gets fired for a 7 win season next year, especially if he is recruiting as well as he has been.

Texas hired Greg Robinson and Chris Ash after they were fired from remarkably disastrous head coaching runs. I hope for their sake the Ash hire works better than the Robinson one.

Herman is terrified of that fanbase.

It's the one "perk" no one wants to think about when they take that job. Until they have to.

Agree, herman is cocky as hell. Right up there with Lincoln riley and Franklin. I get it, this biz is all about confidence and believing in yourself. I get it, but these 2, IMO take it to a new level, one that isn't too attractive from a fan's perspective.

It didn’t say anything about position coaches but I wonder if OL coach and CNY native Herb Hand is safe?

Hand grew up in Westmoreland, NY and attended Hamilton College. I’m not aware of any ties to Dino or SU, but he’s an experienced OL coach who has coached for a lot of big time schools and is a CNY native, so if he’s available he’s a guy who I’d love to see SU pursue.Herb Hand - Football Coach - University of Texas Athletics

I thought that Robinson became a head coach (SU) AFTER he was DC at Texas.

Gerg was a DC at Texas both before and after his SU and Michigan debacles.

Oh, I didn't know that. I thought he went directly to San Jose State and then retired from there

Huh?

Robinson became Michigan's DC AFTER he was head coach at SU.

Exactly.

Just like Ash crushed it at Rutgers and is now at Texas.

Before = head coach

Fired

After = DC that brought disaster

Actually, he was an off-site defensive consultant for Mack in his afterlife. When things got worse in Austin, Mack brought Gerg back as an interim DC.

Yep.After Michigan.

Rightfully so. They are crazy peeps who cannot stand that they are no longer in the NC discussion every year.

Crazy peeps with a lot of money and influence.

Sounds like some Longhorns have been held ACCOUNTABLE.

Geez, you guys are sharp and right on top of it! With his local ties, would love to see him added. We need a big impact at OL and he seems perfect.

It's football in Texas. It's crazy in the HS level.
As someone who grew up in that culture... yes it is extremely crazy. My HS was more successful at basketball, yet still spent over $3 Million to be one of the first to have field turf in San Antonio, almost 20 years ago. I have a lot of friends who are ut alums and boosters and they are not happy.

Where at in San Antonio?
