Thamel: It’s GMac

It was that... and Huggy Bear with the pimp suit... Pitino in the Col. Sanders white suit, etc.

...a collective realization that these guys aren't all Jay Wright in Italian tailored suits and many struggle to dress themselves appropriately.

I mean, Hugs was the first that went full WV track suit, no???... but he was likley given a whole closet filled of trackies after pimp suit-gate...

Did you see Cal last night in his picnic table blazer??

He's like 6 foot 7, right?
yes. 6'7 245. hes not a 5 hes a 4 which is where he spent most of his time at siena. mulvey was the 5. his strength imo is that hes a very good passer.

another kid to possibly keep an eye on as a depth piece is goodrick. a 6'10 center from australia. battled injuries then shut it down mid season. averaged 10ppg and 7rpg.

Does anyone know when we can expect the press conference to happen? I know the school hasn't even announced GMac yet, but there's only one ACC team left in the dance so it's not like they'd be pulling attention away from anything.

I assume GMac would have to announce he's leaving Siena first.

Contract needs to be approved by the BoT as next step

Maybe that’s one of the reasons he freaked out in the locker room. I imagine the pressure was immense already, and he had a great half and wanted to bring it home. Knowing he was going to be limited by his wrist could’ve gotten in his head.

Just a thought.

It wasn’t just that Gerry hurt his hand. Melo’s back was a major issue as well, he looked awful coming out after halftime. I was concerned we were fielding a team of the walking wounded in the second half, and I was just sitting on my couch. That players might be concerned seems unsurprising.

This entire thing feels like a game of telephone. There’s probably a kernel of truth in it, but there’s so much missing context that it’s basically useless “info”.

How do we know he never played afraid? Such a silly thing to argue about. The guy told an anecdote. That's what happens here.
Because it’s obvious BS. Don’t be so gullible.

Afraid is your word. I never suggested he was afraid. Nor did the guy who told me the story.
That’s a deflection. I never said he was a super hero. Pretty gullible on your part to believe the story.

Can one of our donors demand that his money is contingent on Gerry wearing a suit on the sideline? I’d like to class it up, and purge the memory of Red’s schlubby athleisure look.

After the NFL mandated coaches wear team apparel, I loved how Belichick handled it. He intentionally wrecked whatever he was wearing so he looked like a hobo as a form of protest. I suspect the athleisure look is driven by schools to try to drive merchandise sales, and nobody has the self-confidence or financial position to pull a BB. Bob Huggins may got there unintentionally by the end of his career though.

We’re not doing that anymore

My son got his soccer kit for summer league - without input he picked #67. I’m less than thrilled about it. But he told me he knows it’s over but doesn’t care, he wanted the number anyway - he is not a kid influenced significantly by peer pressure.

His total commitment to doing whatever the hell he wants to is equal parts infuriating and endearing.

I literally prefaced it with "The story was...".

Note I didn't say: "A dead-eye accurate representation of an undeniable fact of what happened was..."

are you a boomer or an unc? J/k. I don't know how anyone could coach in a suit.

I think NHL coaches are the only ones that still wear them. But they generally stand in one spot the whole game. Kinda funny that the one sport that lets two guys stand toe to toe and punch away is the one where the coaches dress up.

Hoops coaches dressing casually/comfortably during a game isn't something that bothers me.
