Thank god we have Coyle in charge of this search...

I'm not worried about any of those three [four if you count "USC" as both Southern Cal and South Carolina].

We aren't going to be going after the same candidate pool as either of them, and probably not with VT either.

And Minnesota already hired a head coach, so no competition from them.
supposedly vt already has their coach lined up just waiting until after saturday

I think this is all a question of whether or not we can hire Frost. There will be several programs going after him. If we can, I think we will.

Helps that he interviewed with Coyle already.

Croyle: "Hey Bill Belichick, we don't care how much you cheat here. It's cool"

This is AFTER we turn down Nick Saban

Here are a few headlines I hope we do not see...

1. Dungey declared ineligible due to multiple concussions
2. Culpepper & Lindsey Scott decommit
3. Mahoney transfers to D2 school

That will leave us with Austin Wilson as the sole QB on roster to lead us to the promised land and we will be reading about Coyle's firing in 3 years.

Maybe Terrell will get the 6th year ;)

...instead of his predecesor.

The program is in a precarious position, and it is good that we have somebody who is qualified, competent, and been through a head coach search before.

This is the reason Coyle was brought in. So far, he's handling everything correctly.
When given time, TGD hired Marrone. 2 of his other coaching hires just won NCs and Gary Gait is knocking on the door.

My concern with Frost is that Syracuse would be a spot he would hang around at until either Nebraska or Oregon open up. Nebraska is his dream job I imagine after playing there. And Oregon has resources that the Cuse can't match ever.

Well, if he sucks here, neither of those schools is going to come calling. If he succeeds here, and they do, we should say, "Thank you very much" and take his buyout money. Next

Your facts are incorrect about Gross / Marrone. Otherwise, that's a nice misinformed rationalization.

Are we talking Dream Job, Dream Job or "Dream Job" in the Marrone sense...?

Yep he does well enough to get hired away, that would suck.

If he does well enough, we'll fire him like Les Miles and find someone better.

Yup and hope he has been here long enough to train his offensive coordinator enough to take over and run the offense as Head Coach. That seems to be the trend with with these kind of offenses.

Breaking News: The NCAA is holding an emergency session in which it is expected to rule to suspend Syracuse University's firing of Head Football Coach Scott Shafer. Unless Syracuse University successfully appeals, Coach Shafer will get an new 7 year contract and will have 4 losses from each of the past two years removed from his record.

Determination from the NCAA to come in 2018.

Amen!
