For taking on 2 blockers for every snap. For never complaining. For lifting a million pounds and being strong enough to take on those 2 blockers time after time after time play after play after play. This is what a quiet (for us fans to hear anyways) leader looks like and he'll be missed and hopefully he set the tone for the DL for years to come. Good luck in the NFL and 1 team is going to be very happy they put you on their roster.

Slayton is the prototype for the type of player we need to recruit for defensive tackle. Explosive, strong, and a frame that allows a 260 pound high schooler to play at 310 after a year of S&C.

He didn't add 50 lbs in one year.

Thank you for being a dependable, durable, motor never stopping, taking on double teams always run plugging, tackle for a loss machine while being in a Syracuse University Football Uniform. You will be missed, good luck at the next level so I can root for you more. Orange Forever!!!!!!!!

I totally agree. Well said.

Exactly

Good luck young man as U deserve it. One of my favorite players and the guy to start our dline run in the nfl. Knock some heads and get you some money.

Obviously. Not the point. We're recruiting guys to grow into the spot.
It was the point. And we're recruiting those to grow into the position because at present we can't successfully recruit those huge top DL recruits all the top programs want and get. One day.

That is the point. The fact that a player didn't put on 50 pounds in a year, as you were correct to point out, is not.
