He started to make his move defensively as soon as the Drexel guard beat Sy off the dribble near the FT lane.

Tremendous recognition by the freshman. Kinda reminded me of Coleman his freshman year. Might have been his 3rd or 4th game of the season against Bonaventure. DC closed out on a shooter in the corner and caught his shot. Not blocked, but caught it one handed.

Benny’s offense needs work, but there is an awful lot to like about the rest of his game. He’s active and unselfish….that’s a great foundation.

Was going to start a thread on this very block. That was one of the meanest get that shizz outta here block I've seen from an SU player in years. Filthy.

Having had a chance to meet Benny, he seemed like the nicest most soft spoken kid. But that block shows he can turn on the nasty on the court when needed. Amazing athleticism.

OMG, did you just say that you see some of DC's freshman game in Benny?

Funny that...when I made the same observation a couple of weeks ago, you went out of your way to chastise me for daring to make such a comparison.

I guess it just took another couple of games to see it, eh?

you said ”I'm thinking Benny's has a more complete game than DC when he was a freshman.”

coleman scored 12 points and got 8 boards a game his freshman year...oh and he had 19 boards in the championship game.

he doesnt have close to a more complete game. It’s asinine.

The elevation on the block was eye-popping, but I was equally impressed with how far he came to get that block. That sort of range will make him a hellacious defender once he figures out his rotations.

I think it’s awesome for Benny’s development that he can play 20ish minutes without having to shoulder too much of the offensive load.

Can ease into the college game while still making an impact on both ends of the court. His role on the team is important and going to be really good by the time March rolls around.

It’s one play. They aren’t in the same league as freshman players.

What's asinine is your ridiculous interpretation of my comment.

The phrase "more complete game" was not intended to suggest that Benny could be expected to produce better numbers than DC in his freshman year, but merely to notice the similarities in their raw abilities.

By "more complete" I was referring to Benny's handle. DC had a superior handle for guys his height, but my impression was/is that Benny's handle is actually better, in this his freshman year.

But you, it appears, and others created a strawman argument: "you said he's better than DC!" as an excuse to try to ridicule the guy who regularly defends Boeheim's coaching.

That's what this all comes down to: you and your fellow group narcissists can't stand to hear someone steadfastly defend Boeheim's coaching, so you seek to portray such a fan as "loony" "stupid" etc. It's part of the personality disorder you all suffer from.

You shall be revealed...

DC had one of the best handles for a PF ever, you literally dont know what you are talking about. It’s ok.

Benny is a kid that just needs time. Game is fast still. He will definitely be a big sophomore jump guy
I agree, he will take a big jump next year. But, by the end of this season, he will be part of a great forward rotation. I think there will be games where the matchup will suit him better and he will see more minutes.
