That block by Benny….

Benny is a kid that just needs time. Game is fast still. He will definitely be a big sophomore jump guy

He reminds me of Robert Williams like athleticism.

He's not ready to play 35mpg but he'll win games for us this year. Both things can be right. You can't teach that type of motor. He seems like a good kid too so that'll be very helpful

He's not ready to play 35 for sure but he better keep getting at least 15. We need his athletic juice.

I’m not saying he won’t be good or productive this year. But he’s the classic massive jump sophomore type we usually have

His hair flew up at the end and the hair was above the rim. Close. Almost the same thing.
I was going to say the same thing. His corn rows were definitely above the rim. I was a little afraid he was going to smack the backboard with his face.

OMG, did you just say that you see some of DC's freshman game in Benny?

Funny that...when I made the same observation a couple of weeks ago, you went out of your way to chastise me for daring to make such a comparison.

I guess it just took another couple of games to see it, eh?
No, the comparison was garbage, and still is. Still curious what parts are comparable and if they are why isn’t Benny starting? DC would’ve been the first or second guy off the bench for this team his freshman year?

Corn rows? You just outed yourself as a super white guy.
Well, what do we call them then? Braids I guess. My apologies. I'm not racist, just taking the lazy way out. HA!

I'd say mini dreads.
Okay then.

Edit - I'm changing my mind on these. Those aren't dreads. Dreads are nasty. Those are intricate braids Benny is rocking.

The back line of the zone could be among the best we've ever had next year.
I’ve never seen more wide open corner threes given up than we did yesterday.

Repeating the straw man interpretation of my comment will not somehow transform it from fiction into reality.

You et al. willfully translated my comment into a form of "Benny is equal or better than DC!"

I did not say that, nor did I intend it.

The thread question was "what player does Benny remind you of?"

I mentioned DC because of the similarities I see in their physical abilities, including their ball-handling skills. Some have already disagreed with that, but my recollection was that Coleman--as a freshman--certainly had excellent ball-handling skills for a guy his height, but from what I've seen of Benny's game, I judge his to be superior to DC as a freshman.

Still, in spite of the innocence of my comment, you and your cabal of Boeheim critics seized upon it, re-constructed it into something you could attempt to ridicule, for the sole reason that you collectively resent my outspoken favorable commentary re: Jim Boeheim.

It's telling, because you--collectively--act to have each other's back whenever one of you decides to attempt me to ridicule me. Reminds me of 13-yr old adolescents trying to In-Group Out-group harass someone who doesn't identify with their caustic criticisms of someone they feel superior to.

You're acting with malicious intent, actually trying to define a steadfast supporter of Jim Boeheim as someone worthy of group ridicule. You could contest my observations on their merits, in a form that doesn't include deprecations of another Syracuse fan, but your group narcissistic cult feels threatened by my defense of Boeheim, so you see me as an enemy to gang up on.

It's indefensible.

I recommend that you abandon these malign instincts and accept the idea of answering my observations with counters that don't include the denigrations. I would be good for you...

It's probably a good thing we all root for the same team. Orange Nation!!! Why would you let someone get under your skin. Do you feel threatened by anonymous comments? Take the high road and ignore anyone you see fit to. It might be better for your ticker.

You’re touting your evaluation of DC and Benny based on a block while I’m not sure where else I would use DC as comp. You then mention Benny being a far superior than DC at ball handling as a freshman, so there not comparable there, DC had a much greater shot, defense, and was a machine anytime he was on the court, so they don’t compare there. You doubled up on an outrageous original post while trying to make someone eat crow when you have no clue what you’re talking about, don’t tell me about malicious intent.

There is no anti Boeheim narrative that you’re trying to spew, so stop thinking you’re some martyr.

It hardly "gets under my skin." I see these attempts to 'isolate' me as an opportunity to reveal to those who attack Boeheim (or even me, as a proxy) the errors of their ways. With some reflection, they can redeem themselves.
It's all good from my POV...

Find one post of mine attacking Boeheim and wanting him to retire or move on. Keep up with the false narratives.

Once again--true to form--you conveniently accuse me of hyperbolically gushing over Benny's abilities when nothing of the kind was said by me. Why do you do this? Wait, I know...

I said I judged Benny's ball-handling skills to be superior to those of DC as a freshman. Not vastly superior. Now fans with different opinions can disagree with such judgment--based on sometimes faulty recollections--in good faith without trying to use it to depict the other fan as "asinine."

But these straw man exaggerations are a pattern with you, as you seek to defame me as a contributing member of this discussion board.

BTW, when I teased Jake about him comparing DC to Benny, it was 100% light-hearted with absolutely no malice. But you--again--exaggerated that post, characterizing it as malicious in nature. You are you.

Holy crap, what has become of this board? One pointless pissing match after the next. I remember coming here for thoughtful discussion and incite (none provided by me). Now it is just a bunch of argumentative BS.

Just because you use the words hyperbole defaming, and strawman doesn’t mean you use them correctly.

I didn’t realize that disagreeing with you is “defaming” you, it’s a discussion board.

Forgive me for thinking I don’t believe you have a clue what you’re talking about when it comes to basketball.
