Offense wasn't part of the post I was responding to. I'm aware of the prowess of Babers' offense, but it wasn't a part of the discussion.

So much hand-wringing over the defense being worse. If Shafer were our DC with a Babers offense - the numbers would be worse almost automatically, than if Shafer had a Lester or McDonald or a not 2012 Hackett.

This offense is going to give the opposition more chances to score due to more possessions. Ceding time of possession to your opponent hurts your defensive numbers.

But TO's will go up. Forcing pressure on the opposing QB and offense by having them play from behind is a good formula against most teams. There just aren't that many teams with good enough QB play to win from behind.

I'd throw out all comparisons to years past. The numbers are going to crazy on O and worse than what we expect historically on D.

And I'm cool with that.
