That UNC was honestly one of the worst teams we've played this year

I don't understand how it is possible that UNC only has one decent player, and very limited overall athleticism.

I thought SU played one of their worst games of the season yesterday and they still demolished UNC.

Yeah, it's a good win primarily by name and because they've snuck up on a few teams, but they just didn't look like a team with parts that fit right together at all.

The team really really stunk yesterday. I can't believe the lack of shooters they have on their team this year.

I also was very surprised at how easily we dominated the glass.

If it wasn't for 7 to 10 points in mop up time we would've held them to under 40 points. That is amazing.

"1 decent player"...Paige is really really good (just inconsistent) and Brice Johnson will be a great player for them; they're a really young team that are still trying to fit the pieces together. And honestly with the ACC is shaping up this year, McAddo will be 1st or 2nd team all conference, same with Paige.

UNC didn't play wlel yesterday, and that paritally because of us, but I think they have more than 1 decent player. They have some athletes too, but against the zone they looked clueless. They did struggle to guard CJ and Jerami though.

I thought unc played better defense than they have all year yesterday so think they deserve small credit there. Everything else they did including and especially rebounding was putrid. If we shoot better we win by 30. For all intensive purposes that was a 30 pt win with a 12 pt mask on.

Its amazing that they beat the teams they did.

If you let UNC get in transition, they can beat anyone. The outrebounded MSU by 11, Louisville by 5; they got outrebounded by UK but forced 17 turnovers. We kept them out of transition and made them run half court sets, which they aren't very good at. My friend is a UNC fan told me 2 months ago that this team isn't built at all to beat a zone. They had some guys have monster gamaes vs. UK, Ville and MSU who literally did nothing against us.

It's alll about matchups.

Indees its all about matchups. Those 3 coaches prove jb isnt the only stubborn mule in the biz. They all live and die by their bread and butter.

Alternatively: UNC beat some pretty good teams this year. They also lost to some lousy teams due to poor foul shooting. Perhaps they looked especially bad yesterday against us because they cannot match up to our style of play.

The reason they lost is coaching! No team will beat us playing 10 guys. I rewatched the game this morning and was amazed how many times Roy substituted! He played 10 guys. The zone has a rhythm to it...it may allow a shot at the high post and them it will adjust and takes it away... the offense must adjust or the will no long score against the zone. If you are pulling players in and out they will never get a feel for the changes in the zone. When we took the high post away they never adjusted when a player made a mistake we was not allowed to learn from that mistake he was replace by a different player who made the same mistake. You need to play no more than 7 people prepare them to adjust as the zone changes. The players must read the changes at games speed. How can you expect a guy off the bench to make that read?

The substituting looked like my kids 4 th grade squad last year. I was thinking the same thing about the players being unable to figure out the zone or get any real rhythm going.

Really? The first half was like a layup drill. Got to the basket when we wanted.

I watched the game again and outside cjs two easy drives unc defended well. They were all over trevor as well. I thought they defended us well in the halfcourt. Of course on the run outs we beat them as we did on 2nd chance pts.

I agree..to an extent. Defense boards are a part of playing half court defense, so while they did a pretty good job with lateral coverage and being in our shooters faces - - they took themselves out of the 2nd chance situations in the process.

Yeah I separated it to make it about how they guarded us but agree rebounding is a big part of defense. So they did a good job getting out on shooters and making most our shots difficult. And then failed at everything else. But I concur I was just lazy in not being specific
