Big Brown screws the pooch:
The reason for his mysterious pull up may have been with his hooves. One of them had cracked and had stainless steel sutures in it. His trainer called the injury "a hiccup". Photos show that another shoe may have partially come off and then been pushed back in as he ran.
My purpose in these posts is just to demonstrate how hard it is to win a Triple Crown, that a lot of things can happen and that even if a horse who wins the Derby and Preakness loses, it doesn't mean they aren't a great horse.
And to show what an accomplishment it will be if California Chrome can pull this off.
