With FSU losing to Bama, UNC losing at home to Cal, and NC State losing to South Carolina, the conference could use a couple victories the next couple nights with VT (WVU) and Ga Tech (Tennessee). Pitt escaped Youngstown State by the skin of its teeth.

Shockingly, it was BC who probably handled their business the best beating Northern Illinois on the road.

I find it very hard to root for VPI, but in this case I think I will...

Agreed. WVU is without a doubt the non-SU team I like the most. I just feel a natural camaraderie with them for some reason and always want them to do well.

I'm all in on rooting for ACC Football.

ACC Basketball will always be the SEC Football equivalent but ACC Football is knocking on the doorstep of making CFB a 3 conference race with the SEC, ACC and B1G.

Along with the two games mentioned above, here's some redemption opportunities in Week 2.

Pitt/PSU

Clemson/Auburn

Next weekend is going to be unbelievable between all the great college games and the NFL starting.

How is Penn State a 20.5 point favorite over Pitt next weekend? I thought that spread would be like 10-12.

A couple really nice sized crowds at the Atlanta Dome. Couldn't find an empty seat Saturday, and I don't see one tonight.

This would have been a good road trip to hit up both games.

Has to be annoying for Tech to be a few miles from their campus and have a 2 to 1 crowd disadvantage it appears.

I don't know, looks pretty close to 50/50 to me. But maybe I'm just getting a shot of the one end zone where it splits at the uprights.

But if there's one thing I've learned, it's that Vols fans take that first game very seriously. They'd travel well to Mars if it was played there.

There'd be a fight over who gets Eagle 5...

I struggle rooting for GT on the basis of cut blocks alone. We over protect qbs, receivers but allow OL to attack a Defenders knees on the LOS...
ACC...ACC...ACC...

You are probably too young to remember when SU ran the freeze option. Wiped out plenty of knees.

Always liked watching Georgia Tech. Those Joe Hamilton teams were awesome. Always liked guys like Marco Coleman and Keith Brooking, too.

This Tech Offense is manhandling an SEC defense like nothing I've ever seen.

Rosen had that comeback over the choke artist Aggies but this is just a physical, brute force beatdown.

A win here would give the ACC an okay first week.

NC State had their typical choke against South Carolina.
North Carolina had an awful home loss to California.
Florida State was fine if they didn't lose their QB.

Georgia Tech over Tennessee would salvage the weekend for the ACC.

Miami, Va Tech and Ga Tech all looking to be possible forces this year over there in the lesser division.

Possibly.. im only mid 30s and it was a hard sell to get a cuse game on tv around a bunch of ped st fball fans.

Either way we play it no more and I recall us losing a couple guys to injury playing tech since we have been in the conf.

UNC lost an awful lot. Herbstreit called that Cal win on Gameday the other day. I thought it was going to be a close game. Cal has a lot of guys back.
