The ACC could use VT and GT victories this weekend

Tennessee wins.
Tough loss for Georgia Tech who dominated.

Not a fan of Butch Jones.

The SEC truly is a 2 team conference.
Alabama and LSU and the gap between Bama and LSU is huge.

Ya the Sec East is just abysmal, I mean maybe Georgia could be better, I like their qb, but they usually don't get it done.

Phooey.

Have to wait for next week to hope that bad things happen to Butch Jones and those clowns. Which I do.

Ironic...GA.TECH'S most common penalty is what turned the game over, the chop block.

Jacob Eason is out for their game at Notre Dame next week.

The SEC East is weak sauce even though Tennessee and South Carolina won.

Eh, fumbles and missed FG's lost them the game. I watched 75% of the game and didn't see or hear a chop block or any discussion of that stuff.

They had one chop block penalty but the 3 turnovers and 2 missed field goals did them in.

That's a tough loss for them. Dominated the game and completely gave it away.

Did Herbie just say Josh Palmer drove from Canada to STA (Florida) in an hour?

He didn't phrase it well, but he was saying while Palmer was living in Fl last year he had an hour commute to STA

(thought I heard the same thing)

didnt think it was possible for a team to rush for 500 and lose but they found a way.. a game they should have won by 20..

dont get the going for 2 either.. they couldnt stop you so why take the chance when you dont need to?

They would argue if "they can't stop you" then go get three yards and win the game cuz they can't stop it.

I really don't like Tennessee. I'd root for Pitt over them.
I was mostly apathetic about Tennessee until I moved here. Now they're one of my most disliked teams.

It happened on a play down field and they got a first down on it fairly deep in Tenn. territory and I think it was the series in which they missed their 1st. field goal attempt. They would have had a 1st. and 10 inside the 20 yard line.
That was the first mistake that really hurt them and gave Tenn. some hope and it did.

Think about how I feel living in NC with four ACC teams... I dislike them all, especially when SU is playing them in any sport. ;)

Call me completely insane but i'm rooting for all the teams on our schedule to lose as much as possible before we play them? We want an indifferent FSU/Clemson/Louisville as an opponent. That's when opportunity arises.

Our misfortune has been that the ACC has been strong in recent years and we've played incredibly motivated FSU/Clemson teams who were in the championship hunt. I could care less if the ACC is as strong as the MAC b/c it won't change our trajectory in the foreseeable future. We're not hunting for quality wins to get into the playoff. We're hunting for wins to get a bowl

So true...hard to go to any sports bars here and see four types of banners around. I live in Charlotte and the nearest team is Wake and they have the least fans. I see a lot of NC and NC State stuff.

I want them to win, so as to strengthen our chances of a national championship bid.

Usually, I root for our opponents to win every game but ours. But if the goal is a bowl - I think you're onto something for this year. We need momentum and more recruiting wins.

it's so illogical to want these teams humming at maximum power. FSU may be, when we play them, completely dead man walking with regards to getting to a major bowl. That will impact the effort for sure. The inverse is true with Boston College and WF. Both of those teams could be in the hunt for a bowl and we can't assume either is an automatic win. They'll be hungry for the same reasons as us.

I'm not sure what would be worse, living amongst conference rivals or constantly listening to SEC fans beat their chest. What's most annoying are the people that are clueless about sports and still have strong opinions. I think I prefer the CNY model of them just staying away.

Well, we don't play UNC, VT or GT this year so I'm definitely pulling for strength of the conference with them.

I'm also pulling for Miami to become a power again because I think it would be fantastic for the conference to have a contending Miami and Virginia Tech (along with a resurgent Syracuse, of course).

In terms of BC, NC State and Wake, I agree - We have enough power over here in our division with Clemson, Louisville and Florida State.

They couldn't stop them in the open field. But once in close, GT was really fighting for those TDs, a couple times the refs having to come in and break up the masses before calling the TD.

At best it was the flip of a coin, and if it were me, I'd want better odds.

Texas A&M still gets most demoralizing loss of the weekend, but GT really gave them a run.
