Every conventional wisdom I have seen has it as duke. Really? 94 pts to ku and barely got by ecu? Duke is really struggling on d right now and that is supposed to be a K staple. Is this defense really going to change for duke? I don't know. Then there is SU, and thru four games we have had our warts. Does it change in Maui? We will see won't we?
I am starting to think the real favs for the acc this season should be Pitt and unc (providing pj and macdonalds come back). I have watched Pitt, they are real good. Typical Pitt big East team, a bunch of big athletic men (unlike Duke IMO who can not match their physicality) who can play defense. But that is the problem, they are no longer in the BE. Will the refs in acc really let them get away w their physical style, especially w the new pts of emphasis on the hand checking and the armbar? I really believe if unc gets pj and macdonald back they are every bit as good or not better than duke. Can we be up there with those three teams and virginia and nd? We might not be there now but Trevor, Tyler and Gbinje will only get better and once they do I think we will be right there! Go Orange!
