Ohio, Miami of Ohio and Purdue (on the road) are all threats. Norfolk is the one program they are clearly better than and can't lose. If you are optimistic for them and say they will win them all,

But they could lose 3 of them. Realistically, 3-1 in this strength is the most likely outcome.

That is my prediction for Rutgers for 2025. Extend Schiano. Let's keep chopping like this indefinitely.

Rutgers will go 3-0 OOC. So only need to go 3-6 in conference to get a bowl. Losses to Illinois and top 3. Purdue, Maryland, and Minnesota are potentials wins. Iowa and Washington depend on location, and I do not feel like looking up where those games are being played to see if that impacts things. That is, sadly, smarter than saddling your team with Notre Dame and Tennessee OOC.
 
They won in overtime pretty much guaranteeing they'll be in the Big 10 tournament.

Love the Muttley insertion, but this is Rutgers Newark. They have a different mascot for each campus. I think that's a bit dumb, but not unprecedented. University of Wisconsin does this for example. Wisconsin-Milwaukee is "Pounce the Panther"

In this case, it is Rutgers draining their ability. I’m not 100% sure Harper can duplicate in the pros what he does in college because he can’t shoot but he gets to the rim as well as anyone, but they can’t spread the floor for him and teams have figured that out.

Ace Bailey On the other hand, takes some of the worst shots imaginable, but when hot, makes an insane amount of them. He is also a tremendous athlete, and night and day more dynamic than Donnie was for us (despite being the number six recruit). He is the legit number two prospect in the country. But he is undisciplined and still takes the bad shots when he’s cold.

I don’t care how bad we are, I still love watching Rutgers find new ways to disappoint their fans.

At least Rutgers is consistent. Most schools despise the idea of Rutgersing but Rutgers gladly owns it!

That's one of the reasons why it makes no sense to cite the incoming recruiting class as a reason to retain the current staff.

The portal is much more important.

Transfers on average get paid 5X as much as HS recruits.

I don’t have a problem with it. To me It’s kind of fun to be honest. I think two things can coexist. We could be bad, and we can make fun of Rutgers too. For those who recall back 20 or so years ago, Rutgers was nothing more than a team you laughed at. But Schiano made it personal with us, and their fans followed his lead. He was classless with negative recruiting and badmouthing of Syracuse , which I can tell you is 100% true and an obsession of his.

Rutgers always sucked, and no one, even here in Jersey, paid any attention to them. Then they got OK for a few years at football and their fans became insufferable, and they still are. Then they always sucked at basketball and then they had a pretty good team with Harper, Baker, etc. Then their fans became insufferable for basketball too. Then they got two of the top three recruits of the country, and became even more insufferable, (and they were all booking their trips to the final four too).

So while we were certainly not happy with the way this season went, they were devastated with theirs, because while we are cautiously optimistic as a fan base, they go all in with unrealistic expectations every year, in every sport. So when they crash and burn, it makes their losing that much more entertaining. (Remember their football team was supposed to be a “playoff team“ this year too. LOL.)

In the end, we won NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS in soccer, cross country, and field hockey, just in the last few years, and certainly have a punchers chance in both men’s and women’s lacrosse this year. We have a long history of being above average in almost every sport. We have NFL Hall of Famer‘s and NBA legends, and the 2 greatest lacrosse players of all time. We always have something to celebrate or remember. Our campus in “Siberia“ is beautiful, and theirs is a dump.

They have nothing, zero, zilch. When they stop acting like they are something special, I will stop liking these threads.

Edit: they do have something, Louisville 19 years ago. As I understand it that is a HUGE deal. HaHa.
