The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

It’s bitter sweet.

On one hand, that’s the most Rutgers thing I’ve ever seen and got a good laugh out of it.

On the other hand, that probably blew our chances of slipping into the Top 25.
Take the first hand.

If we beat Miami next game, we'll be ranked and hold it until the bowls (at least). If we lose we will drop out of any ranking we might earn this week.

6 more days of Others Receiving Votes is well worth the RU tears.

Just saying when Rutty fires him and Coach E gets a HC gig, can't wait to have him as a DC.

Greggy hits the century mark!

100 losses and counting.
Quote from the article: But, man, it is hard to shake the feeling that his uncanny ability to steal defeat from the jaws of victory will prevent this program from ever achieving something great.

Syracuse with a big 8th win against UConn and the Auburn of the North, Rutgers with an all time Schiano Special loss. A good day, just a really good day.

I'm the Auburn of the North

Rutgers is the gift that keeps on giving .. not only do they blow the game yesterday, their #25 ranked basketball team is losing to Kennesaw State by 5 with under 6 minutes to play. Will they pull the ultimate double face palm this weekend?

I thought they were the Iowa of the east?

I’ve always disliked Rutgers for their arrogant , ignorant and obnoxious fan base. I brought my young son to the famous Johnny Flynn teabag game. And also to a football game somewhere around that time that I think we won 10 to 6 or something like that when Shady ran wildcat all game.

Both times several fans were hurling **** bombs at anybody wearing orange, including kids. They have always had a strange rage towards Syracuse, as they believe our history and success in sports should be theirs. They had just had some moderate success in football, and we were down, and they were convinced they were the next Alabama.

So this weekend, losing in a way only Shady can lose, followed up by their vaunted basketball team losing to Kennesaw State, makes me laugh. (Kennesaw lost to Cal Baptist as a measuring stick).

They just had a conversation on their board about what their “best five wins ever were”. Here’s what they came up with, NO LIE!

#1. Of course Louisville 18 years ago. That‘s their biggest win since their shared fencing title back in ’49. It’s their national championship, their Super Bowl, their everything. (BTW since they beat that top 10 Louisville team, we’ve beaten top 10 Louisville teams TWICE, including being a 35 point dog on the road). It’s no big deal. We never even mention it.

#2. Michigan, (in a year that Michigan was 5-7). That would be like us putting the 30 to 7 victory over Florida State a few years ago in our top five.

#3. Miami in the bowl game last year, where most of Miami starters did not play and they clearly did not want to be there.

#4. Arkansas, in a year that they were 4-8. Even I thought Rutgers could do better than this!! I figured a few on their board would disagree, but there was not much pushback.

#5 Iowa State in some crappy bowl game like the weedeater bowl.

these are spectacularly bad results for a team that has put everybody except Ohio State, Michigan and Penn st. “In their rear view mirror”.

From you know where and you know the drill:

For now? GS should still be our HC in my humble and pained opinion.

Going forward though? Fran Brown.

At least they know a better coach when they see one.
OP is delusional. Grow up and have an ounce of perspective. Tough loss, yes. Schiano is the right man for the job, and quite frankly he’s overachieving given the resources he has to work with.

We are showing steady improvement each week and will continue to get better each year.

If you don’t have the stomach and patience for big boy Big Ten football, go root for Syracuse

This may belong in the recruiting thread. However, Rutgers currently ranks 27th in the 247 2025 Recruitment Rankings. SU ranks 36th.

I'm calling it: Come Signing Day, SU ranks higher than Rutgers.

E-clip 'n save.
Don’t they factor in future decommitments into Rutger’s rankings.
