The math in here is crazy...and is pre revenue sharing so the costs will go up another $20M. We're missing more of the numbers because the big buckets below only account for $136.5M of the $193M in total expenses. They've more than doubled total spending in six years and got...what out of that? The AD argues they have a revenue problem vs spending and compared to Big Ten peers, she's not wrong. But they have a tiny amount of donations to their AD coffers and it seems like their ticket sales are a fraction of a typical Big Ten school, too. Something is missing...

From the article:

The report shows $146.6 million in total operating revenues, thanks to a record $61.3 million from the Big Ten for its media rights and $10.7 million from the conference as its share of the league’s Football Bowl revenue fund.

Those gains were offset by an 8.7% increase in Rutgers’ sports spending from the previous year. The highest expenditures included $46.1 million in coaching salaries, $31 million in support staff and administrator salaries, $23.1 million in scholarship aid, $14.4 million in facilities debt, $13.5 million in team travel and $8.4 million in student-athlete meals.

The ledger shows a $47.2 million shortfall. When added to the $7 million subsidized from the school’s general budget, $8 million from the state budget and $15.8 million in student fees, the department’s deficit reached a record $78 million.

Just rearrange your crystals and light a few candles. Eucalyptus is great for "juju", as long as you burn it from left to right and no closer than three weeks from any solstice.
 
Phil Murphy is an absolute crook. Cannot figure out how he dedicated so much tax money towards their athletic programs but it needs to be pulled back with new administration in office.

Stop subsidizing the tire fire.
 
Are there any educated or informed guesses about what Cuse Athletics bottom line is compared to the disgrace that is Rutgers ?
