It’s just dumb. The NBA referees can handle this easily but lazy or dumb college referees your pick can’t do it.

Because they use more numbers in lacrosse, the refs have another set of hand signals. Three fingers held straight up is number 3, while three fingers held parallel to the ground is number 8. They come near the scorers' table, use just one hand, and say out loud the number of the player(s) getting the penalty.

It’s not hard to do this for basketball.
The possibility for confusion has to be very low. People aren’t stupid and every team has one assistant coach who tracks fouls so the HC doesn’t have to memorize it.

Players in college basketball should be allowed to wear any number 0-9.

It's funny because the Auburn game wasn't that close. They got some garbage time buckets that made it a 1 point game, but we were never in real danger of losing. The Ok State game is the real "what if" (along with the Block).
