I stopped watching about half-time. I'm surprised he is eligible this quickly. He's only been here a couple of weeks. Wonder if this will leave him with 3 years to play football.

If his 5 year athletic clock starts in Spring 2026, it ends at the end of the Fall 2030 semester.

He'll be in the NFL draft long before then.

2028: Football, NFL Draft eligible at end of season
2029: Football, NFL Draft
2030: Football* (Only if he needs to take a redshirt in 2026-29).

Definitely. That’s one of his requirements, and the new coach wouldnt be off to a good start with SU fans if he contributes to chasing away our 5 star receiver. More than enough scholarships.

Not only that, but Russell might be the most athletic, physical 12th man you could possibly get on a roster. Very few coaches will have a roster good enough to pass up Russell as a deep bench player, especially on the football team's nickel.

If Russell had chosen to play basketball, he might have been a legit ACC talent.
