Red builds the team the right way. You can find proper positions on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 position as he is able to find. In the long run, he can bring back SU to tournament. But he cannot do it instantly. He is not at genius level. If Syracuse can find a genius, I would agree for a replacement. But SU never wants to spend big money, I doubt we can find a genius to coach the team. Why don't let Red try? At least we see he can build the team properly. In the near end of JB era, we see him try to include pieces that cannot fit into the puzzle that is why he failed. I see George is a good point guard, not top level but good enough. He needs a shooting guard that can save him when he is in trouble.

Not knowing to foul under 15 seconds to prevent a game tying 3 is grounds for termination in my opinion.

Inexcusable to allow a three with eight seconds left when you could have fouled and sent them to the line.

I agree and disagree. 8 seconds is right at the boundary of letting them shoot. You foul and their guy goes to the line and hits both. How good do you feel when they foul us with 8 seconds left? We just had our best foul shooter brick one and we were still in the one and one. Under 5 seconds, foul for sure. 8 seconds and we risk losing on a 2 pt shot.

Absolutely agree. And worse still would've been to foul the 3-point shooter. By going as early as they did they essentially took away the fouling option.
The real problem was having 8 seconds left and not even getting off a shot to win it

This true but you have to hit it right. This team is exciting. we can beat or lose to just about anyone. Athletic and fun for me to watch. I am entertained. very disappointed din a couple of losses and everyone associated feels the same way. I keep hoping for the best. Look we could hire a a real disaster. You just never know. Many of us on this board were excited about the GRob hiring when it was made. I do not recall anyone being dead set against it. He was a great guy but just did not have what a head coach needs. Anyway I will support this team every game even if Sister Jean from Loyola were able to come back and be our coach. I love the school and the program and will always be loyal. Some may say that is a fault, but I view it as an absolute super power.

I see your point, but I’d rather take a chance on the foul option. While your scenario is one possibility it’s also true their ft shooter could miss one or both, and even if he makes two I’d rather take a chance on Donnie at the line (he was 6-7) and less time for them to get off a final shot. Seen too many teams hit late 3s against us I guess.
