Here’s the problem- if he makes the tourney, nothing is really “solved”, he just made the tourney. We all know there are some serious coaching shortcomings. So extending him after that just extends everyone’s anxiety lol. And this is coming from me of all people

If your projection is correct, then I for one hope we finish weak. I see no future success with Red coaching.

If I see Kyle or any other big catch the ball near the basket and not immediately go up for the hoop, as has repeatedly occurred this year I will absolutely know that we have no one capable of coaching. Oh wait the staff has had plenty of time to correct this single problem, but nothing is changed. Could this be considered bad coaching or do we just have players incapable of learning? I lean for poor coaching or no coaching.
I have seen multiple issues like this with no noticeable improvement.

I agree and disagree. 8 seconds is right at the boundary of letting them shoot. You foul and their guy goes to the line and hits both. How good do you feel when they foul us with 8 seconds left? We just had our best foul shooter brick one and we were still in the one and one. Under 5 seconds, foul for sure. 8 seconds and we risk losing on a 2 pt shot.

Wasn't JB's philosophy not to foul? I remember that epic game vs Duke at the Dome where we didn't and they made the three to tie.

This true but you have to hit it right. This team is exciting. we can beat or lose to just about anyone. Athletic and fun for me to watch. I am entertained. very disappointed din a couple of losses and everyone associated feels the same way. I keep hoping for the best. Look we could hire a a real disaster.

The last two years were real disasters. This year being "exciting" because you never know who we could win or lose to is not the standard for Syracuse basketball.

Tourney run or bust from what I've heard. Losing in the first four or even as something like a 9/8 seed won't cut it... and in year 3 it shouldn't AT FREAKING SYRACUSE!

Barring a truly unbeleivable, miraculous run... Red is toast. No inside info, but I can just about guarantee that the conversations are happening already with agents of potential candidates.

Agreed, hence the money on the back end of the contract wouldn't be fully guaranteed so they could easily fire him and it wouldn't cost too much, after 2-3 end of JB era like seasons, which is basically what we are witnessing

JB thinking it takes 5 years to build is another indictment of him not realizing you can use the portal to upgrade your roster and not just replace your roster. He didn't realize you can recruit good players out of the portal beyond his son and buddy's friends that he would approve of.

And then he brought in 6 freshman thinking he was still in 1992 and the class was as good as Michigans Fab 5. Just clueless.

I don’t think there is any coach in college hoops who will sustain success in the NIL era at one school. So we’re hoping to strike gold, get a few hot seasons out of a guy, rinse, wash, repeat.
