Coach obviously realizes this as well, yet there isn't much he can do about it. The cause is, of course, multifactorial and I know alot of people believe it to be due to Joseph's "laziness" and leaking out after shots but the main problem is really Fab and/or whoever is playing the middle of the zone. Just rewatch the game tape of tonight and you will see Melo allowing himself to get pushed underneath the rim by Gtown players of varying sizes and strenghts. I really dont think it is a strength issue for Melo, its more of a personality issue. I dont think he likes contact that much. Sure some boards are due to long shots and long misses, but this year more than others we are getting volleyballed at the rim. How is this possible when we outsize nearly every team we play? Simple..the center must serve as a "goaltender" in zone rebounding. Fab is either flying around looking to block everything or he is getting shoved under the rim and the volleying continues.
