The Coach Needs to Be a Man

Giving Jim Boeheim the benefit of ever-growing doubt, he said he didn't know anything about the allegations.
He defended his longtime friend/assistant.
He said if facts to the contrary arose, he said he'd change his tune.
Fine.

But he went further.
He outright called Bobby David a liar.
Some of us were stunned by that.
That's a serious allegation, especially under the circumstances at issue.

Now new facts have been made public.
The coach needs to speak up.
The sooner the better.
There's going to be A LOT of heat on him and on SU...including calls for his head (whether justified or not).
But really he should speak up because it's the right thing to do.

He just needs to apologize for calling Davis a liar.
He can even say he's shocked - as of now that's still a believable statement.
Then just let the case unfurl.

By virtue of his public statement, Jim Boeheim has called himself out.
Let's see if he's man enough to follow through.
I hope so.

...he began to back track with statements if fact change he will re-evaluate...well now is the time to say as the facts change i understand my comments were hurtful and wrong. I cannot believe that this is Bernie, however, I support the legal system and feel that right will be achieved...I am sorry that I called Davis a liar...that was in regards to be seeing him in Bernie's room and the results of two or three previous investigations which I had nothing to do with that exonerated Bernie or at least led to no prosecution. I stand behind the University and support whatever decisions they make.

What part of Davis saying he lied to get $5000 from Bernie did you miss? What part of the three different stories on how he met Bernie did you miss? What part of JB saw me then later after being called a liar and saying JB knew nothing did you miss. There are more than enough lies to warrant being called a liar. He created that bed on his own. Does it matter one rats behind what he lied about to not be called a liar? No! Stay with the truth and you don't get called a liar. I wish that was the only thing bothering Davis. And I really doubt that is actually bothering him. Don't want to be called a liar, here's a hint...don't lie. I can feel real sorry for these guys if the allegations are true. I can't feel sorry for them lying.
