tackling. It was ugly at times. But they also forced 5 turnovers and made several big plays. At the end of the day UConn had 311 yards of total offense.
The special teams YUCK.
The offense somehow only scored 7 points in the first half despite being the recipient of 5 turnovers, and really failed to move the ball at all until the end of the second quarter. This is the issue that continues to hinder this team and damage the season.
I'm seeing very little leadership across the board especially compared to the type of leadership on the team last year. In retrospect it sure looks like that 2 week window after summer school ended and before fall camp began when so much heck broke loose was a sign of the lack of leadership. The players players on this team are high quality and they work hard. Several very good players and perhaps the best on the team are fun characters, good kids with great personalities and work ethics. The problem is that doesn't necessarily translate to leadership. It looks like it's going to take some time for those kinds of qualities to surface in some of the younger kids.
