- Dumb penalties! First and goal on the BC 2. False Start. Delay of game. 1st and goal on the BC 12. First and 10 at the 50. Holding. False Start. 1st and 25 from SU 35. Second and 3 at BC 29. Encroachment. Second and 8 from the BC 34. 4th and 8 from the BC 34. Unsportsmanlike conduct. Fourth and 23 from the BC 49. BC 3rd and 5 from their 13. Incomplete pass but Trill Williams levels him after the play. Personal Foul BC first down on BC 29. BC roughs the passer on 4th and 11 from the BC 38. But Dontae Strickland takes his own revenge. Unsportsmanlike conduct. We get the first down but the ball is back at the 38. Finally, we get false start penalty on the victory play at the end. A play where you don’t have to go anywhere….

- Of course, the question of what is foul, especially pass interference, remains amorphous. There were again several obvious cases of interference not called, most notably on a pass to Custis in the end zone on the first drive when a karate chop across the arm before the ball got there prevented the reception. BC later got a call on a much lesser foul. Then there was the kickoff where Otto Zaccardo got decleated on an obvious helmet to helmet play. They reviewed it but decided not to call anything. Later trill Williams did the same thing on a pass play, 9see above) and BC got the call.

- Andre Szmyt seemed a lock to take the national record for field goals when he had 27 going into the Notre Dame game. (The record is 31.) Bowl games now count so he had three games to do it. Dino gave him those two late attempts vs. Notre Dame and he missed the first one. He got one shot, (because we were so good in the red zone) today and kicked a wounded duck. He’s stuck at 28 and you have to wonder if he’s lost a bit of confidence. He’ll now need a four field goal performance in the bowl game to break the record and three just to match it.

- One more: Third and long and we run up the middle, get 3-4 yards and punt. Several times in this game and during the season.

It was Stritzinger that received the cheap shot right? Or was Zaccardo also on the losing end of one?

Thought the snap/hold on Szmyt’s FG attempt was bad. He almost got through his kicking motion before the ball was even down.

For some reason the refs don’t call Dungey down. He took some hits he didn’t need to during that one play. Same thing in the Pitt game.

Snap was definitely high and the timing off.

Love Dungeys swagger but throwing the ball into a players facemask and taunting the crowd get penalties that lose close games. On the other hand, Eric seems to have a great sense of mood and momentum and showmanship that rallies the troops. It's all a package, I'll take the great with the occasional problem.

It's probably a product of the fact that Eric keeps his legs moving and doesn't want to go down. The strip in the Pitt game happened because of that, IMHO.

Zaccardo got it on the kick-off, Stritzinger later in the game.
