- I hate seeing leads slip away. I was rooting for the Broncos last night against the Patriots and seeing them lose in a game where they had a 24-0 lead put me in a sour mood. So going from 12-2 to 14-17 and later from 33-27 to 33-34 and still later from 52-38 to 56-52 and finally from 63-56 to 67-65 made me a bit dyspeptic.

- In the last minute of play, we twice got the ball with a 6 point lead and charged right to the basket and got fouled. Ennis missed the front end of a one and open and Grant scored two free throws after Christmas had missed a dunk. The idea in that situation is to milk the clock. We didn’t need more points. I hate milking the clock with 4-5 minutes left but it is certainly the thing to do in the final minute.

- Tyler Ennis had a good game overall but was 1 for 9 from the field.

- CJ. Fair followed up his 2 for 13 game against St. Francis with a 2 for 8 first half. I think the pressure actually helped him in the second half as he got more open shots when we broke the press and he wound up 7 for 15. He also had 5 more turnovers, giving him 23 in five games. He had 63 in 40 games last year.

- Malik Smith hit four threes from the top of Mt. Haleakala but what can you do?

- That was a rough game, beyond the basketball concept of “physical”. CJ Fair looked like he’d gone a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson.

- We’ve been dealing with that snotty little kid Rick Pitino for 30 years now. We’re probably going to be dealing with his even snottier little kid, Richard Pitino for another 30.

Couldn't agree more with the bullet point above, SWC.

Ya, I thought the son looked like a very good coach. Did you think he was "snotty" last night, or do you just presume future snottiness?

Did you see the look he gave his player (King I think it was) after the kid fouled out? That guy is just plain mean

I noticed that look. But I think Archie Miller looks like a bigger whiny snot to me (for a little fella).

It's in his genes. Great coaching and elite level snottiness. :)

There was plenty of snot on the floor after that game.

We were up 10-12 mid second half no Gbinije in for defense. Cooney and Ennis need to atleast extend and make opponents guards pick up their dribble and feel alittle pressure in that situation. Especialy when they are sitting on the ball alittle frustrated. We sat back in that situation, much easier to sit back with the wingspan of 6'7 gbinije saying bring it as us.

Better to pressure them not necessarilly to take the ball but to make them pick up the ball forcing a longer pass or a cutter to run to the perimeter instead of a scoring set to recieve the pass. Better to not give them a patient feel or let them sit back and think freely what they can do to get some offensive momentum(don't give them the time to), and make them try to force some offense in a situation like that.

Cooney and Ennis beat Gbinije in steals. I wonder if minni thought they could pass the ball easier against them.
