- The Pirates just jumped on us, taking a 2-10 lead in less than two minutes. Jeremy Hazel opened the scoring with a long three pointer and then made another. SU tired to come back but never got within 5. The Pirates pushed it back to an 11 point lead on two jumpers by Jordan Theodore. A couple of baskets by Rick Jackson made it 19-26. Hazell made a couple more treys, then Theodore another and the lead grew to 23-37. It was 30-43 at halftime. The Pirates opened the second half with a two point jumper from by Fuquan Edwins and a three point play by Herb Pope. SU, meanwhile went 4:35 without scoring. A Hazell two pointer made it 30-50. Scoop Jardine finally broke the ice with a trey but the game was out of hand. The deficit eventually grew to 26 points, (three times), before a couple of late buckets make the final Syracuse 68 Seton Hall 90. The season opening winning streak and high national ranking the Orange had achieved seemed a distant memory. Of course that was last year…..

- Syracuse’s defense was overwhelming but Seton Hall’s effort against it was underwhelming. They were very careless with the ball, almost nonchalant and seemed to have no plan for attacking our defense. It probably wouldn’t have mattered but I think they made us look even better than we are. The fact that they had one steal and no blocks is as impressive in a negative was as the fact that we had 17 and 15.

- Yes, it’s impressive that SU beat the #8 RPI team with Kris Joseph getting no points and 1 rebound in 26 minutes. But obviously we are going to need consistent production from our best player for our dreams for this team to come true.

- We were also 2 for 13 from the arc. Good thing for the visitors. One more thing that might matter someday if we shoot that way again.

- We got outrebounded again but as long as we can make up for it with steals it doesn’t matter. But what if we don’t?

- Mookie isn’t any fun any more. He won’t even shoot.

I thought it was even funnier that he didn't shoot, what with everyone wanting him to shoot.

I thought (hoped, wondered) if I would open this thread and it would be blank.

Another downside? They over doubled their point production in the second half versus the first. What, Orange? Not gonna win many games with that little stat-a-roo...

Please to note: this is a joke.

It didn't matter in this game BUT we gave up 22 offensive rebounds. Against a team where we can't steal the ball at will our consistent lack of defensive boards is going to really cost us. How does KJ get 1 rebound in 26 minutes?

Seems like he playing with the crowd- letting them get amped to see him shoot and then dashing their hopes. He clearly had the opportunity to shoot. Good for him, he's accepted his role and having fun.

Never. I even had a downside for the national championship game:

- That Dave Bing, Richie Cornwall, Vaughn Harper, Rick Dean, George Hicker, Bill Smith, Kid Kohls, Mark Wadach, the Lee brothers, “Sweet D”, Rudy Hackett, Bug Williams, the original “Shack”, Marty Byrnes, Louie and Bouie, Danny Schayes, the Tricaptians, Sean Kerins, Pearl and the “A” Team, Ronnie, Greg Monroe, Howie Triche, “The General”, DC, Stevie and Billy, Dave Johnson, McNasty, Poetry in Moten, JDub, Otis Hill, Todd Burgen, Jay Hart, Etan, Blackwell and Shump were not on this team.

But then, they were. For without them and what they and the rest contributed to this program, this could never have happened.
