- I’m not sure what to make of a one-sided win over a team that was missing it’s star point guard. It made our job easier but were we really better?

- The last two games we are 10 for 38 from three point range, (.263), including 9 misses in our first 9 attempts in this game.

- We went from 14:34 to 9:17 without scoring. It began with Southerland’s lone make and ended with a freshman, Carter-Williams, making a jumper. We were 0 for 10 in between. JB complained that we practice all the time against the zone but didn’t know how to play against it in a game.

- James Southerland hit his first shot and then missed 8 in a row. Confidence- or the lack of it- governs his game. Where is his mind right now?

The downside for this team is basically one recurring issue nearly every freaking game. Defensive rebounding. We are having BIG TIME problems corralling missed shots on defense. Today, I think I can count on one hand the number of times they missed a shot and we cleanly rebounded it. I mean they had 15 offensive boards, but they could have had 25 with a few bounces. The rebounds we did get were of the pinball variety where they had a shot at it first. This is not just a by product of zone defense...this team just lacks the knack of knowing where missed shots (from the opposition) are going to go. Seems like its two on one or three on two nearly every trip under the hoop. If we dont force turnovers, we are going to have HUGE problems against teams like KU , Baylor, Uconn.

I think our centers, melo and Keita, don't have great hands. They often gets their hands on a rebound but can't control it or they get it but have it stripped, etc.
