On 4th and inches the only play you need to be able to run is a QB sneak.
Shotgun on fourth and inches.
It’s so funny everyone treats Brady like he’s some god for sneaking it so much. Yes the guy is probably the best ever, but of all things... somehow he’s the only QB ever that realized wow... I should just sneak this behind my center/guard for one foot.Yeah, that situation PLEADS for the QB to rush the O to the line, take the direct snap from C, and dive to one side of the C and pick up the ez 1st down.
You know, like Dungey did on the regular.
In recent history. The QB sneak was a staple play for a long, long time. It’s so funny everyone treats Brady like he’s some god for sneaking it so much. Yes the guy is probably the best ever, but of all things... somehow he’s the only QB ever that realized wow... I should just sneak this behind my center/guard for one foot.
Most underused play in football history.
Rewatching that play...looked like Tommy went to initiate contact too early with the lineman instead of trying to outrun him...I don't think it that was that bad of a playcall but poorly executed.
Just put Elmore under center and someone like Bear behind him. I’m sure between the two of them, they could get 6 inches of push off the line.Should never be in the gun on 4th and less than a yard. It completely takes away the advantage of time and distance. The gun negates the short distance by allowing the D time to penetrate. Its strategy 101.
