Just shows where we are as a program. The refs don’t even give a rat’s rear about us anymore. In what world is that a flagrant foul? Very debatable whether it was even a common foul. And to miss a kicked ball and have the entire bench and players on court react like that? And then you stand by your call as the ref? It’s a really sad, sad state we are in.

Sorry, gotta disagree about the flagrant. Cuffe ran into an elevated player and made no attempt at the ball. Dont see how you can even question that it was at least a common foul. Reffing had nothing to do with outcome, we simply played like crap. It would have taken about 50 missed calls to make a difference when we play that badly.

It's tough complaining about refs because it just makes us look like a sore losers; that said, while they clearly didn't cause the L, objectively it was pretty atrocious. All kinds of obvious missed fouls. My 70 y/o mother was even incredulous.

The kicked ball you're talking about ended up the OOB on cuse call? As the ref that made that call ran down the court he was kind of shrugging and mouthing "I didn't see it." What I did not see, was him check with the other two refs.

Gotta disagree with your disagreement. The play was effectively over when Cuffe made contact. The offensive player had already fumbled the basketball. When he left the court he was making a play on the ball. Vulnerable player? Sure! Who knows what happens if ge maintained control. Shooters movement would have been different as would Cuffes. I can see the call because he was vulnerable. I can also see it being dismissed as a rough basketball play. Note that he did not, in any way, gain an advantage. On the original point, the refs don’t even care about us? What?! Have you been watching Syracuse basketball?

Cuffe committed a foul and by rule probably flagrant. The ball was fumbled but still live. If not, probably a dead ball technical.

The missed kicked ball right in front of the refs was atrociously bad.

Lots of other questionable calls.

Even with all the above, the officiating played no role in the outcome. None. Zero.

How? Ball was by him and he tried to catch him more than anything else

He ran into an air borne player which is a definition of a flagrant foul.
Yeah but if the kid caught the ball nothing would have happened so how is it cuffe’s fault tell the Louisville kid to catch the ball.

Anybody have a clip of the Cuffe foul? I’d like to weigh in but didn’t see it.
