Which one hurst the most?
Owens- Had no other BCS offers, would have been a project not a huge loss imo.
Whitehurst- Kid has the ability and would have been great addition to special teams from day one. This loss hurst but we have some young depth at LB.
Brantley- could have played this year if he added some pounds in the summer. The biggest loss imo. hopefully the underrated Coleman can be great.

I think the Myles Hilliard flip hurts PITT the most.

Brantley IMO. He was one of the players I was most excited to sign based on A) ability/versatility and B) getting into that area for recruiting.

My first thought was, if these are our biggest problems...not so bad. Whitehurst was clearly no surprise, I think he hurts the most though, as we were clearly able to replace Brantley with what look like reasonable substitutes, which is nice. I see fewer substitutes for Whitehurst.

Brantley--hate to lose a kid this big / fast / athletic. Would have made a great DT.

But of the rest of the group, the one I think will hurt the most is probably the least heralded--Leroy Owens. Kid seemed like a stud athlete, with lots of room to grow. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him grow into a stud DE. Luckily, that was a position that we had a great haul this year, so Owens departure won't hurt.

Brantley, by a mile. Like it's already been mentioned, this years haul at DE compensates significantly for his loss, and Z-Jones could be the wide-body at DT we've needed. Owens, Whitehurst and Glanton all had nice upsides, but none were huge loses. Also, Mungwa moves to LB in the Spring and I'm excited about that. I don't know if we're quite yet done adding another LB to this year's class. Let's see who drops through the cracks, but here's hoping we only consider A-list types.
