Yes, really good news.

I had a lengthy chat at the game tonight with two nice guys from the Orange Bowl selection committee. They love SU and the way we travel (they were very impressed with our turnout in Orlando last season).

Anyhow, they would love to have us in the Orange Bowl this winter and are rooting for us to get at least nine wins this season in order to qualify.

LMAO. Thanks, I think we all needed a good laugh.

I thought they stopped selling alcohol in the 3rd Quarter:) At this point 7 wins is going to be a good season.

To the negative people responding the second best ACC team gets the Orange Bowl berth.
We could go 9-3.
There is only one more team on our schedule that will have close to the talent Clemson has on their team.

Even IF we get to another Florida bowl this year, how many of the folks from last year travel again this time around? Last year's Camping World Bowl was SU's first warm-weather/big-time bowl in what, 2 decades? Guessing the travel numbers were a little inflated by 20 years worth of absence...

All these sarcastic responders don't get it. The Bowls want fannies in the seats. They like us because we have a reputation for traveling well ... and putting fannies in the seats. Why is that so difficult to understand?
Joyce, I think it’s all about the timing. You’re being extremely positive saying the Orange Bowl is in play IF we get to 9 wins

I think most of us are just trying to figure out if we can get 5 more wins to get to ANY Bowl this year, much less the Orange Bowl.

Now if we win 7 more games and you made this post in November leading into out last game, it would get us a lot more excited. Unfortunately it looks far too improbable at this time. So improbable it’s closer to a joke than anything else.

CTO we just got pummeled two weeks in a row. I don’t think anyone is in the mood to talk about a P6 bowl

Hey, be careful using “pummeled”. I used “drubbing” in another thread and got flack for it. ;)

Actually, I also met the Orange Bowl reps. They spent a couple days in town meeting with different people in the athletic department. I met them in the elevator in my hotel. They are really serious about Syracuse. DId we just suffer 2 losses? Yes. we did. But lets be honest. When in the past were we wooed by a major bowl like we have been this weekend by the Orange Bowl. If we can turn things around they seriously are loving SU right now. I don't think they were here looking for us to beat Clemson, and they were here after our Maryland beating, and they did not cancel the trip. So CTO is not drinking too much or anything else that was suggested above.

Lol. It’s difficult to understand because we are not a very good team right now. Appreciate the optimism but it is a little far fetched.

Appreciate it but I’m worried about Western Michigan right now.

I can’t believe this thread. cto says the orange bowl reps are interested in us and pulling for us.

I mean, that’s it right? Full stop. Period.

I swear some people can’t accept a simple stated complimentary fact and call it a day. FFS.

Can’t be positive about anything until we win next week. But if we do and then have HC and a bye while some other teams lose we can talk about this.

UVA is in the pole for 2nd best ACC team and behind them are somehow undefeated in the league Wake and UNC despite the fact they’ve already played each other. Lol.

I’m not conceding anything everyone else has either a bad loss or like Duke and Lville a loss to a power team but no legit wins. UNC is the only school with a decent OOC win other than Clemson assuming you don’t count wakes over UNC.
