Even IF we get to another Florida bowl this year, how many of the folks from last year travel again this time around? Last year's Camping World Bowl was SU's first warm-weather/big-time bowl in what, 2 decades? Guessing the travel numbers were a little inflated by 20 years worth of absence...
Yeah that’s a head turner for me in a way Orlando is notThat was Orlando. SU will get people to go to Miami in droves. Miami on New Years sells itself. If Syracuse had the turnout it did for the CWB, they'll see a 50% increase easily with a bowl in a city like that.
Its not hard to understand, it’s just difficult to be optimistic at the moment. I appreciate your providing of some silver lining here. Yesterday hurt but this is indeed good news. All these sarcastic responders don't get it. The Bowls want fannies in the seats. They like us because we have a reputation for traveling well ... and putting fannies in the seats. Why is that so difficult to understand?
You have to be impressed that the Bowls think SU travels well. This is a great sign as long as the team wins 6 or more.
Joyce, if we don't start playing better, no one is going to Florida or anywhere else to watch this team play. If we are good, they would love to have us. If we aren't they are just being polite. All these sarcastic responders don't get it. The Bowls want fannies in the seats. Optimism springs eternalWe have a month to get right before we start the games that will determine if we are in fact the #2 ACC team. We can do it.
Not so sure:That was Orlando. SU will get people to go to Miami in droves. Miami on New Years sells itself. If Syracuse had the turnout it did for the CWB, they'll see a 50% increase easily with a bowl in a city like that.
Not so sure:
Miami is further to drive to
Much more expensive hotel and ticket
Many of those fans last year drove from a 10 hour radius.
If we finish 9-3 or 10-2 that means good things happened to Cuse. I'd expect a similar sized crowd. 50% more is a reach
BTW, I understand what cto said...she is correct. Now Cuse is gotta win starting with WMU
