was ever any discussion on this? pretty clear on replay there was contact and it was a bad call. the announcers seemed to not even pay attention to the real play. ended up being no big deal. did SS get asked anything about it?

Are you saying he didn't go out of bounds on his own? My first reaction was that the refs got it right. No?

I thought it was the right call..he did go out of bounds and came back in. Some think he was pushed OOB...didn't see the replay so I'm only going by my original view.

He was clearly pulled OB, but it was a tough call for the official to make. His view of the grab on Gulley's arm/hip would have been blocked.

the rule is he went OB on his own.. if there is contact that is no longer the case, you can see the ref looking right at it not sure how he didnt think contact wasnt involved.

I thought it was the right call after seeing the replay. But it was a helluva play by Hunt to keep the play alive with his roll out, and then to hit Gulley right in the corner with a precision, pinpoint dart.

And it was a very nice play by Gulley, as well, to get open when Hunt began to scramble. They did everything nearly perfectly, Gulley just happened to step backwards out of bounds slightly.

Yeah it was the right call.

Had we lost by a TD it would have been the wrong call :)

I thought he was pushed out. I said so in the game thread.

I would agree, after watching the replay he was pulled out of bounds. Could have been called a hold or force out. However, even if they did say he was forced out he still has to re-establish himself back in bounds with 2 feet prior to catching the pass and after watching the replay I did not think he was able to do that. Therefore, the play would have ended the same way regardless unless it was called a hold which is an automatic first down.

in college unless they changed the rule this year you dont have to re-establish your feet.. i cant remember if that was a no rule this year or not.

I agree he was pushed out thought it was a bad call at the time still do. Now it was definately less contact than other times I have seen the push out rule apply and the ref can only see gulleys back when he got pushed in the chest but I was really surprised there wasn't a booth or coaches review
