The Heisman Show Last Night...

Yaaawwwnnn...90 minutes with 3 not so interesting candidates. Can't remember a year with less Heisman talk, can anyone else? After a week of college football post season awards, this ceremony is a bore, I can't get enough of college football but last night's show made me look for an NBA game, lol. Also, the fact Keenan Reynolds wasnt at least invited was a travesty. Bring 4 or 5 guys to NYC and tell their stories, and maybe that 90 minutes will be more tolerable.

Agree 100%. Was out to dinner with a friend who is a big college football fan. He actually asked when the Heisman would be announced, not knowing it was yesterday. Three very non-descript candidates. This season was a war of attrition for some candidates who were probably more deserving, but fell by the wayside due to their teams losing.

The Heisman lost my interest years ago. They've tried so hard to make it a thing but watching plus along with how they do the voting turns me off and reeks of bias/ignorance.

I agree, I still think Fournette is a more talented back. Problem is, the Bama qb developed into a threat while LSUs offense remained one dimensional and that resulted in teams loading up the box against them,

agree if Reynolds came but chopper would have been epic but they prob didn't want to take away from who would win award

It really has lost it's luster to me over the last few years. I can't really point to one thing that caused it. I could barely remember that Mariota won it last year

One of the projected drafts did not have one of the finalists in the 1st. rd.

When McNabb had comparable numbers to Michael Bishop in 98 but came in 5th in voting and Bishop 2nd ... That's when I checked out

If it actually honored the best player, which it's supposed to, it would be more interesting.

Instead, it's the best offensive skill position, most likely a qb, on a 10+ win team.

Yeah, I wish it could be like 1956 when Paul Hornung won for doing a lot of things reasonably well and some things poorly for a 2-8 team.

About 10 mins in it felt slow and I clicked the digital cable info and gasped 90minutes of crap and fluff?! just makes the announcement anticlimatic and these guys have to sit there staring forward in the front row. Left it on but did other things while it was on man ESPN has botched it.

The 90 min hype for a 1 minute announcement and a 2 minute speech is a bit much. Show is totally un-watchable I don't care who is up for it in any given year. There are a ton of things they could do to make that show more interesting.

I'm fine with the telecast being a celebration of the finalists and past winners. Why shouldn't the sport be showcased during the slow week before the bowl season starts up?

There was zero buzz this year, and they could have created some buzz if they let Reynolds come by chopper, but like usual they dropped the ball.
