We can hopeAnd likely not very well. His few passes this season explain why he moved positions

He can throw as well as Dungey or Shrader, Michigan didn't bring him in a QB prospect and he can't throw a forward pass. And likely not very well. His few passes this season explain why he moved positions
A reverse or double reverse could yield a big play or 2 with them stacking the box.the difference is that his throws as a QB are very different than his throws from the wildcat. he wont be sitting back in the wildcat trying to beat 7 man zone or man with safety help. Most of his wildcat throws will be to guys who just have to beat a guy and it will be mostly under 25 yd stuff.
We had 3 days to put the system in.. Not only is that a run blocking curve, Its a pass protection curve, but it also a pass route curve. The easiest throw of the game should have been to Allen for a Home run.. But Allen hasnt run that route more than a few times in practice. Now that they have film it easy to show that if he shallows that route out it becomes a simple throw to a wide open WR. Instead he ran it to the post which made it too vertical and also brings the safety back into the play.
another week of practice and they might a dozen more things we do out of the formations. We ran wildcat before but we never used these same sets. its like what teams do out of 1-3 personal and go big, but guys have to understand it.. We got the easy TD in the endzone from it and there will be plays to be made, you just have to make them.

Are you dropping a hint on who you want for the next coach?Come at them with some more razzle dazzle
The coaching staff is still trying or has been trying, to install a pass first offense where you throw the ball 30+ times with a lot of precision timing and throws. I don't think Dan, or Shrader are suited for that. In a run first wildcat, your talking more like 15 passes and those are decided by the OC, not on check downs. He can do that.Right. So then why did the staff change his position?
Cause if what you speculate is true then that would mean he should’ve been pushing Shrader to be the starter.
He throws as good as our starter, runs as good as our starter; which added together means he’s better than all the backups, yet we’ll move him to tight end. Roger that.
Nah I’m more black and whiteAre you dropping a hint on who you want for the next coach?
100% agree. Carlos making safe, high-percentage throws needs to be at least somewhat of a threat so we aren't running the ball against 11 in the box.If Carlos is healthy this week, put him in there with Shrader, Villari and LQ. Go full on Mad Hatter.
The one benefit we have is GT is the worst in the ACC against the run. Pitts ranking is a little skewed because based on avg allowed per game we put up nearly 2.5 games worth of rushing yardage.Yep, it also helped that Pitt is a complete dumpster fire right now. GT isn’t great but they’re a lot better than Pitt and their bowl hopes are on the line Saturday. We’re going to have to be able to complete a forward pass to have a chance.
That’s my thought as well. Have someone always available for a dump off in the flat and that will be one less person to help stop the run. And go to that early and often to keep them honest.Keep running the ball and roll out some all hitches when they inevitably load the box to keep them honest.
we ran the R-NoP-O.I wasn't actually sober watching the Pitt game. Therefore, I really don't know... did we run the option at all? If so, I completely missed it. All I remember is up the middle essentially. Seems to me if Shafer can't thrown but can run, why not add that wrinkle?
I actually miss a good dose of option - takes me back to when I became a diehard orange fan watching McNabb and company.
Wiscy did that for 20 years and it worked out pretty good. Better talent but it workedDo you really think it’s gonna be that hard to stop? The guy behind center is taking the snap and running straight ahead.
Time to roll out some old school freeze option throws!I wasn't actually sober watching the Pitt game. Therefore, I really don't know... did we run the option at all? If so, I completely missed it.
