I would guess quite a few.
Shafer has been around for over 20 years so he must have a pretty good network and knows many coaches. He has long roots in the MAC, which has become somewhat of a coaching incubator.
Who are the best BE OC's? They probably want out.
Who are the OC's he knows from his Stanford days?
Who are the coaches he coached against hat gave him the most trouble?
I am very curious how he will pursue this search and am confident he will make a good hire out of a very large field of candidates.
- Shafer has a great rep and, while a defensive guy, he played QB in college.
- We just came off of a record year for the offense.
- We are returning a large number of O starters.
- We are joining the ACC.
- We play in a dome.
- We have a very interesting playbook sitting on the shelf.
- Our 33 year-old OC with 2 years experience just went to the NFL!
