Surprised no one mentioned this...but this Class had to be one of the worst/bad luck classes out there.

Brisly was IMHO the best recruit. So much bad luck in the group with concussions and other injuries.

In reality only a few high level D-1 players...the rest were G5 or FCS level players. On the bright side...overall they seemed like a good group of kids and represented the school well off the field.

Briz and Luke were really the only big contributors.

Kirkland helped win us the Rodeo Bowl comp before the Texas Bowl, and was a solid backup.

A few more solid role players, and then... meh.

Isaiah Johnson would have been really good IMO. Shame.

I remember Kirkland lighting up an NC State WR and/or QB in our first ACC year. Guy was an animal.

Sums up every Shafer class. A few good ones (Franklin, Dungey, Ish), a lot of lower level talent (Guidice, Scissum, Avant, most of the 2016 class before he was fired).

Can't recall a more under-performing class than '13 and this lower level talent was reflective on the field the past several years. Give Dino some time and the Cuse will be back in the game.

I was thinking the same thing, wow that class didn't pan out, surprised it didn't set us back further than it did.

That '13 class (hurt by Marrone's departure) was a unique case -- and then suffered way above average attrition. Ranked #73 by Scout.
In contrast, Shafer's next two classes were ranked #53 (though about 1/3 of his 2014 class never made it or left early) and #50. A decent amount of players from each of those Shafer's classes will people Dino's current two-deep.
Dino's two classes are ranked #57 and #54 (the current group). That does not account for grad transfers (Etta-Tamo was our MVP last season). We can expect Dino to be active with grad transfers this Spring, since he will have 5 or so scholarships in hand.
