It appears that we're stuck with Red next year. With that said, there's hope with Team Melo's two year financial support. We know Melo is watching most of these games. Would a better investment be buying out Red? Does he feel Syracuse's lack of success positions Kiyan to get solid PT to showcase for the NBA. I'm trying to understand how things are better with an additional NIL budget as I watch Arkansas, Indiana, etc. The worst outcome is to tarnish the Anthony name if things go poorly. Can anyone inject hope into me with Red as our HC and Melo bankrolling the team. How does this scenario improve our current situation?

Pretty much what I've been saying for the last month+

No. Buying out Red next year doesn't make sense unless we have really deep pockets. Take the 5 to 8M and put it into NIL. We simply don't have the money for both.

It's evident that the athletic department does not want to fund this. That's why I suggested Melo. He does have deep pockets and could convince others...

Regardless, I haven't heard a solution that provides any ounce of hope.

No way did they sign red to a 4 year deal at 2.5-4mil. If they did wildhack needs an iq test and then needs to be fired for incompetence.
I'm just going off one of our insiders information.

Enjoy watching the team?

What is enjoyable about watching this team? And I'm being serious when I say that.

Starling might be the only redeemable piece to watch play. The others are either one-year rentals or guys that play a very unlikeable brand of basketball.

Not a lot to enjoy about this team.

Starling's style of play isn't enjoyable to watch if it doesn't lead to a win. Bad defense high volume low-efficiency scorers are not fun to watch anymore.

I personally like Davis. I enjoy Cuffe on D. My favorite is McLeod, completely. Misused

Okay, could someone help me out, please? I haven’t been on the bball board much for obvious reasons. Where can I get more information about Carmelo’s plan to help the program? Thank you.

Lol maybe the most oddly-worded headline ever.

His wine is available at the garden -- who cares how much the garden is worth? He didn't sign a deal for 5 billion dollars lol
It would be nice. He could have been our cash cow.

If Dolan is as skilled a negotiator as implied in that article, he just might have.

My big fear is Melo/Kiyan inject enough life into the program to drag it into a #10 seed in the NCAA tourney for a year or two - then Syracuse sinks back to a 10-15 win program with a newly extended Red that they're stuck with for another few years. If Syracuse is solidly out or a top 4 seed going into the tourney next year, I'll feel like there's a path forward...being a bubble team which just scrapes in is going to be a long term disaster for the program.

Yep. I guess if you want to look at things optimistically, the silver lining for next year is that it is kind of a no lose proposition. If we do poorly, we get rid of Red. If we do well, we get to finally watch Cuse in the ncaa tournament.

I think this off season is going to be telling. As the players leave if we don’t see a net gain of talent then next year will
More than likely be the end of the red era. If we see a positive gain of talent and we some how buck the trend and ride freshmen to the promise land then there is hope and red and the ad have proven us all wrong.
