At an interview with Seth Greenberg someone asked once K retires, who will be the new face of men's CBB?

He thinks that person is Jay Wright.

Agree disagree someone else?

If the face of CBB means who represents the current poop show that it currently is, then Coach K was a great representative or a Bruce Pearl or a Bill Self as a replacement. If it is someone who represents the traditions of what it used to be, then a Jay Wright or a Mark Few (prior to DWI). However, the state of college basketball is so bad right now, even coming off one of the greatest March Madness's of all time that I don't know if Jay Wright would aspire to represent such a sad situation.

Why not Boeheim? I’m serious! Although in terms of being pristine, I guess Wright would be a good choice. But if you think they are not going to fuss (in a good way) about Boeheim for the rest of his tenure, I believe you would be wrong. Has never been at another school, bleeds Orange, has put Syracuse on the map. There is much to commend him.

I think whoever that face is it needs to be someone with an ambassador like demeanor. Needs to smile all the time, graceful in wins and losses, says the right thing all the time, no picking a fight with a microphone or yells TEN **KING GAMES on pressers. JB just doesn't have that public image, besides with two NCAA probations on his resume it won't fly anyway.

Wright or Mark Few
Few can't play that role with his recent DWI still fresh in people's minds.

It's not who's a good coach or who wins most, it's who has the best image to represent mens CBB.

I think you might be on to something here! And when Boeheim is not available, the coach from Miami could step in for him!

Pretty sure it will be someone who is not adversarial with the media.

May be public impressions of Boeheim but I really liked that during his interview yesterday Mintz remarked how relatable and honest Boeheim is

Love JB but no, I don’t think so. Calling out players by name immediately puts him out of the running, IMO.
He’s just a little too old skool and not quite PC enough like a Coach K, who always seems to have his image on display. I think that’s why a lot of people consider him to be a phony.
For better or worse, JB can certainly not be called a phony. Misguided, bullheaded, stubborn, ornery, dry, etc. but never phony. JMHO

I agree it can’t be JB. It will be interesting to see if he gets into broadcasting or analysis post retirement. He’d be better than any former coach doing that type of work today.

It is a fact, though, that as soon as Duke loses, he will be the winningest active coach in the country.

He is adversarial with local media but is a darling with the nationals.
You mean like when he told Andy Katz off? JB is a bully, He is adversarial with the local media because he can be. The national guys don't have to take his nonsense, so for the most part, he backs off of them. That is typical of bullies.
