Does he mean the people that try to enforce academic standards? The ones that try to stop coaches from recruiting players with cash, girls and other "amenities"?

Seriously, could he not coach without a headset? He probably did at one point in his career. I know there is some good discussion but with 15 people, you still have to direct traffic and ban chatter.

This is dumb.

If you want to limit the size of support staff then limit the size of support staff. It makes absolutely no sense to make communicating in the middle of absolute chaos more difficult.

well they got rid of 10 headsets per game over 6-8 games so so 70 headsets at $250+ , close to $20 grand in costs saved..

maybe that frees up some bandwidth in the dome and our wifi gets better?

the articles said all the non coaches that are listening in to keep track of stats etc, other qbs/players at times too
