As have I. Just keep serving the drinks, and I'll be back.

I spent my $ at Bugsy's. It was an awesome venue. Lucy's (literally) isn't half of that place.

I've visited Lucy's twice over the past decade. There's a lot of room for improvement. Most of my M Street coin is now left at Faegan's.

I like Lucy's but those fishbowls take forever to make and takes the bartender's attention away from the real drinkers. Needless to say it is fun watching folks try to group chug their bowls but a man could die of thirst in there.

The Orange was the classic SU bar.

Really glad it's coming back!

Ok so now I'm confused. Lucy's is turning into the Orange Cafe? And that's where it used to be until 1980? So what about the Orange Cafe from my time at SU? Which was the predecessor to Darwins. Did it move to the corner, then close again in the early 90s?

OK. After The Orange closed, it became Lucy's. I can't remember the name of what it was before Lucy's. Befor Darwin's, the space was called The Mason Jar. As for the Orange Cafe during your time, I can't help you, because at that time, I was making a living and going to games wearing orange polo shirts.

Buggseys.

Wasn't it Olive & Orange before it became Lucy's? Or was Buggseys a short transition period between the two?

And Orange Cafe became Darwin's around 1993-1994.

I know this is an extremely hazy part of my past, but I feel pretty confident that I knew bar names. Where's JKinPhilly when I need him?

It was Buggseys when I was there during the early 80's.

Man, we need a timeline for this stuff. Locations of Maggie's from 1999 to 2004 needs its own chapter.

When I arrived in 1991, this was the lineup (any upperclassmen or women who had real IDs or better IDs can chime in)

Sutters (RIP, thanks Mike Edwards)
Chucks (Under Sutters. The current location is, I believe, where Sutters once was)
44s (the once proud Marshall St tradition)
Faegan's (same place of course)
Harry's (same place of course)
Maggie's (RIP, on University Ave next to the other Bookstore, then moved around the corner in the 00s)
Olive and the Orange (became Lucy's)
Orange Cafe (became Darwins in 1994ish, don't know what it is now)

The Sheraton bar, once called Regatta, became more popular by my senior year. A $1 all you can eat buffet for a bunch of poor college students will do that.

Did I miss any?

I remember when Maggies was upstairs in the Mall, and POETS was downstairs.

I'm about a decade ahead of you.

If only 44's was back. Ive long contemplated opening 44's again myself.. then coming to the realization that i have no money.
SU ran it out of business. Contested his liquor license when up for renewal.

I was there 92-96 and had the exact same lineup.

Until senior year, my bar visits were based primarily on where I knew bouncers or where my ID would work.

Basically, it worked out to be...
Freshman year: Sutter's, Maggie's, and Orange Cafe
Sophomore year: 44's and O & O
Junior year: 44's, Faegan's, and Lucy's
Senior year: Faegan's and 44's

Yeah, so I was probably about 10 years old. At that time, Broadwell's in Oswego was where I got my fix. 75 cents per pitcher, something a lawn mowing income could support.

He let WAYYYY to many underage people in the bar and to be honest deserved it. I still loved the place though.. And yes...i know all college bars let in underage kids.
