I worked up there forever so I can clarify all the bars that were there.
Faegan's was a poster shop called The Emporium.
On the corner was the Mason Jar, which became Bragg's, Then the Orange Cafe, then Darwin's.
Harry's was originally called The Greenhouse Cafe.
Maggie's was originally upstairs in the mall and it was really named Magnolia's Courtyard. It was nicknamed Maggie's. Then it moved downstairs in the mall but only had an entrance from the street. That spot was originally P.O.E.T.S. which could be entered from the mall. Then Maggie's moved to Marshall Street but could be entered from the Chuck's alleyway as well. That spot is now DJ's On the Hill...
Chuck's is now where Sutter's Mill used to be. Originally It was underneath that and was really called Hungry Charlies but only nicknamed Chuck's.
44's was on Marshall Street in a spot that was first called The Generic Bar or The G-Bar so named because they never put their actual name up on the building which I think was The Marshall Street Pub. Eventually, that spot became Konrad's until they were shut down by authorities for serving minors.
The new bar, which will be called The Orange was originally named The Orange and was the only bar up there for years. It then became Buggsy's Back Alley Bar, then the Olive & the Orange (or O&O), then Lucy's and now The Orange again. And yes, Buggsy's was spelled with 2 G's...
And don't forget the Jabberwocky in Marion - owned by S.U.
