Bud seems like a really good guy. He just never learned that most readers don't want to have to reread something a few times to figure out what he is talking about.

The old monarch Dungey was loathe to give up his crown to the young prince DeVito and his knights of the gridiron so he issued a kingly edict to the young upstart in the form of a crackerjack victory in those fabled halls of Archbold last Saturday over the wolves of the Old North State.
Some might think that Bud was the victim of bad timing. Unlike Arnie Burdick, Bud had to weather P's declining years, the quick exit of HCDM, and the disappointments of "The Band." And what else was there? Oh, yeah.. the GROB Debacle.
I would like to think had Bud been born a generation earlier... But yeah, I think I'd rather see the return of Arnie Burdick and the Old Scout, but that ain't happening.
