The Season Isn't Over Thread

I suppose for the first time in awhile when I look at the roster I see enough talent to get it done.

That's something!

I have almost 0% faith we can get it done, but we do have the talent!

The season isnt over guys

here is a safe space to discuss that FACT
Hmmm... I thought this might be the one thread on this board where some of us delusional fans could discuss something positive. I guess that isn't even possible here. Good attempt, Cardiac. I was with you.

Should Zephyr get more PT tonight or what?
i think so...whomever the PG is needs to stop dribbling into the teeth of the defense and losing the ball or taking a bad shot, like george often does

but for me, its all about donnie - he has been bad the last 3 games - all losses...why exactly? not sure

before that he was great for 4 games or so - 3-1

if Donnie can flip the switch back to what he was doing earlier...this team can still beat anyone

if they can somehow go 9-2 last 11 things could get interesting...

also i think whatever is going on in 2nd halves is very bad - the team loses every second half...and loses every close game - thats coaching - which can be improved upon. and must be.

the second half game plans are just so bad and every opposing coach is eating reds lunch after half time...needs to stop

Adrian Autry can keep his job if he only loses three in the next 12 games. Likely Duke, Virginia and UNC. That means he needs wins against NC State, UNC, Cal, Louisville, SMU and first game in ACC tournament.

Right now we are 12-8 with 11 games left, giving us a best case potential record of 23-8 (I know, I know, not gonna happen). If we did get to 23-8 we would definitely get into the tournament. Realistically, given what the bubble looks like right now, the absolute worst we can be and have any prayer of an at large bid is 20-11. So I think the "magic number" for the season officially being over is 3 more losses. That said, I agree, the season is not over!

Sayin’ a little prayer for Red and our Boyz!

And what if the ultimatum works out? Say Red was 17-2 right now. What stops him from remembering that he was put in an ultimatum situation and decides to shop himself around.? At the very least, he gets a big raise and a contract extension. So... now the same guy you gave an ultimatum to because of subpar performance relies on one season to get a long extension. See Norvell in Florida State. They are stuck with each other.

My biggest fear coming into this season was Red was going to throw everything including the kitchen sink into making the tourney, and slam into his ceiling which is probably a #10 seed - and that would be enough for an extension. There’s a small part of me thrilled we keep losing the close games - if we were even .500 in them, we’d be at risk of landing a #10 seed I was dreading.

We quite literally would almost have to win out to make the tourney. I’m not even joking when I say, we probably have a better chance of losing the rest of our games than we do to make the tournament. That’s the sad reality of where this program is right now

At this point my biggest concern is somehow we win the ACC tournament - that would be icing on the cake - not watching Kadary or Copeland - but to see Autry some how back

THAT’S your concern?
