Shafer's career may hinge on these next four games. Given the crucible this team has been through thus far, the swimming gets a whole lot easier. They need to step up and respond. Hopefully they're not too banged up physically and mentally from the last five weeks, and can make a run at it starting with NC State next week.

As far as I am concerned ... Another missed opportunity

Shafer may not be the man
Lester for sure is not

Our season is on the brink.

Need to win 3 of 4, which doesn't give us much margin.

That was a brutal stretch. Not making excuses, but damn. Can we get healthy down the stretch? Can we start to show more consistent scoring for the first time all year? Both big question marks.

Are you kidding. You're going to go after shafer and Lester after playing with one of the best defenses in the country. We are banged up. Starting a freshman qb and still could have won this game. Lester has had three games to try and run his offense. He's using gmacs playbook. How about we give him alittle more time. Oh and what has shafer done wrong

I can't blame Lester or AJ Long for the offense. I would liked to have seen a little bit more, but Clemson's defense really is that good. They're Alabama three years ago good.

Long had three seconds to find receivers who got no separation, in front of 80,000 screaming fans int he second start of his career. I'm not sure what Lester could have dialed up to make that offense work tonight.

Our defense played very well tonight. They can win 3 very easily and they can lose out just as easy. Heart says 3-1 brain says 2-2. Either way brutal schedule this year and miss chances against Maryland and ville. Let's go orange.

My only question for Lester is why the hell after halftime and you have a 6-3 lead are we throwing on first down. Run the ball, get the clock moving...try to get in 2nd and 3rd and short and shorten the game as much as possible. Keep Long in 2nd and short or 3rd and short and manageable situations.

I know the lead wasn't huge and only a FG, but with the way their offense was playing and SU's defense was playing, keep that clock moving, limit the possessions and snaps Clemson has on offense put your QB in manageable situations. Cause when you are throwing on 1st down and its an incomplete pass you now have 2nd and long, you now have stopped the clock, and now have put Long in a tough spot to try and lead a first down drive.

It was unbelievable to me how Lester was calling plays coming out of halftime

No hard feelings, you are a good poster however...

Why do you only show up after a loss?

oh my god, I show up after EVERY game. I am here after wins and loses. Go through the post history.

We are really going to do this tonight??? Way to derail a thread:rolleyes:

Fair enough my brother.

it was probably based on how Clemson was playing us

Still makes no sense. Gotta play the scoreboard and the clock and manage the game. If we have a vet QB with experience that is one thing, when we have a young freshmen QB that's another.

We aren't going 0-4 Pitt looked awful today. Duke isn't all that good and nc state is bad also. They can do it. Shafer is staying. Move on.

Yeah, HCSS isn't going anywhere.

With NC State showing a real offense this year and BC playing some good football the chances of a bowl berth are pretty slim. I will be rooting regardless but recognize this season js about done. Lots of hope for next year, though.

They aint goin 0-4
I don't think they are either. Even if they limp in at 1-3 he will be on the hot seat. For the record, I don't think they'll go 1-3 either. That's not really the point of the original post anyways.

Yeah. Look at our schedule. At 5-7 he is not on the hot seat, anything else he could be...
