So I found this CavsFan forum, with a 1000+ page 2012 draft thread, and decided to see when the discussion about Waiters began to heat up.
While there was scattered discussion here and there, it generally followed the 'experts' draft board, with him slowly creeping up the ladder. But overall they refused to consider Waiters until at minimum #6 after a trade.
But there was one seemingly 'insider' poster that seemed to be way ahead of everyone, constantly saying they should be spending more time talking about Waiters... until he took it upon himself to start the fire on page 739:
